Add to Goodreads: She's A Mad Hatter

I'm not a psycho.
I have a rhyme and reason for what I do.
Maybe it's against the law. I don't care.
Besides, I'm the judge and executioner here in Wonderland, Texas.
That is, until my brother's best friend takes up for me. Loves me.
Now I'm not sure I can continue my mission.

I'm a detective of the Wonderland Police Department.
The Mad hatter is on the loose.
My attention isn't on the case.
No, it's on my best friend's little sister.
She's trouble.
Trouble, I want to get lost in.
But can I keep her safe and love her at the same time?

My Review
So, this story may take place in Wonderland and Maddie is the Mad Hatter but that is all of the similarities that this book has with Alice in Wonderland. I am fine with this factor as it allowed me to imagine a more modern, gritty world for this story. This story is told in alternating times from present to past. The transition is done very nicely. The more I became familiar with Maddie's past, the more I understood her mission for vengeance. The victims do die gruesome deaths but there are no gory details. So, for readers who don't do gore, you would be fine to read this book. The slow burn romance between Maddie and Drew was good. Although, I do wish that it was speed up a little faster. They shared spicy chemistry in those intimate moments. I am happy to see that Maddie's friend, Knave will get his own book next.

Meet SJ Ransom

S.J. Ransom has been reading romance since the early 90s. As an avid reader, she loves all types of romances. However, as an author, she is a dark, gritty, and taboo romance author. She loves to make people think and fall in love with her characters. Even if that love starts out with a bit of anger and a shock.

S.J. Ransom also writes poetry under the pseudonym: Mayleeuh (May) West.
