Got it Bad

Image
Kellan Maguire's on the run from the mob, living a secret life. The only bright spot is his U.S. Marshal handler. Yeah, he wants to handle her....a lot. And in spite of all the rules it would break, Federal Marshal Delaney Evans secretly fears she’d risk everything for one night with Kellan. Even though Delaney’s career, her entire world, could implode if she admits how important he is to her. And all that is before the biggest complication of all hits. My Review If you have never read a book from this author, then, you are in for a real treat. Instant love for the characters; especially Kellan and Delaney. They were good for each other. I don't blame Delaney for breaking the rules where Kellan is concerned. He was hard to resist and I don't mean just on the eyes. He had a sweet side to him as well. Example is when he carved a heart with their initials (Ooh/Ahh). Yet, this book is not just all about Delaney and Kellan. Not that I am complaining. There is a nice sto...

The Reverse of Perfection

Image
Dylan Royce, ex-child pop star, needs a sexy image makeover. His first adult solo album came out under his perfect, white-washed persona and tanked. Joining a band equally famous for their music and their between-the-sheets escapades is only the start. He needs to get raunchy. Sleep with a different girl every night. But there’s only one woman he wants, and she still sees him as a goody two-shoes boy-bander. Ariel Watson is the publicist in charge of turning Dylan into the sex-god every woman dreams of doing. Frankly, she doesn’t see the appeal. Until one hot kiss changes her mind. Now she wants to keep him for herself–without losing her job. Or losing Dylan the legions of drooling fans she’s supposed to be building for him. Turning bad got Dylan the woman of his dreams. But how will he choose between her…and his career catapulting him back to superstar status? Bad Decisions Trilogy My Review I have read several books by this author now. All of them good. Although th...

The Opposite of Right

Image
Kylie Stafford has spent her whole life doing exactly what’s expected. The right major, the right sorority, the right guys, just like her mother and her sister before her. But when everything falls apart for her, Kylie wonders if doing everything right has been utterly wrong. There’s only one way to find out. She decides to try making all the wrong choices for three months. Hit on a tattoo-covered rock musician? Check. Go back to his dressing room for a hot hook-up against the wall? Gulp. Drop everything to be a roadie for him to binge on more of the best sex of her life? Maybe. Start falling for him despite her better judgment? Um….yeah. Figure out why doing everything that seems wrong feels so darn right? My Review I have read a couple different books by this author. They were sweet, contemporary. So, this is my first taste of what Ms. Barth delivers in the sexy romance genre. Well after reading this book, I have got to say that "Sometimes being Wrong can be so Good....

If it was "Up To Me" I would treat myself and pick up a copy of this book today. You won't be sorry.

Ella Mayhew works as a massage therapist at the Spa at Mayhew Manor. It has been three long years since she has dated anyone. She meets the sexy Graydon Locke. He already has her dropping to her knees...literally. Grayson is on an undercover mission. He is the trigger man. He goes to businesses and scopes them out and decides if they need to be shut down. His current mission is to see if Mayhew Manor needs to be shut down. What Graydon did not expect was Ella. I have read several books by this author and enjoyed them all. Up To Me is the first book in the new series from this author called Shore Secrets. So if you have never read this author's books than now is a good time to check them out. I really liked the chemistry that Ella and Graydon shared. They were such a perfect match. Ella had a bite to her. She had attitude but in a good way. Graydon seemed surprised but I liked that he let Ella be strong. This story was not only good, had steamy sex, but it was also funny and cha...

Love at High Tide

Darcy Trent is on a vacation in Ocean City, Maryland with her friend, Trina. She deserves it after spending eight months writing her dissertation in Africa. Trina and Darcy go for a swim in the ocean. The cold warm takes Darcy’s breath away but it is the hunky guy that really does it for Darcy. Darcy’s rescuer is named Cooper Hudson. There is an instant attraction. Darcy’s vacation has just gotten better. Now all she has to do is try and keep herself from getting killed with her friend, Trina. I have read several books by this author and enjoyed them. I had so much fun with Darcy and Trina and all the trouble that they found themselves in. They were like the wannabe Nancy Drew and friend. They were not that good at investigating but it made for entertaining reading with funny laughs. What I was not laughing about was Darcy and Cooper’s romance. It was hot. I think that Darcy needed to go into the ocean again to cool off, only I don’t think that Cooper would be any help as he wou...

A Fine Romance

Image
Review by Nancy Book Two in the Aisle Bound series is wonderful. It is funny, serious, will make you bee-line to your favorite bakery (YUM!) and a great way to spend a wintery day at home. When Mira is left stranded at O’Hare Airport by her best friend Ivy’s “guy” friend Sam she is way to the left of pissed off. The next day she unlocks the door to her new store and sees an intruder whom she promptly bops on the head with a lead crystal vase. Yep, Sam – who has a key to let deliverymen in. Not an auspicious start for a friendship, much less more. A Fine Romance is Ivy’s dream store and Mira has been hired to run it. Over-the-top food, picnic baskets, napkins, the whole deal. All aimed at the consumers ending up eventually at Ivy’s main store, Aisle Bound. A great marketing strategy. Sam has the Bakery next door or, rather the Bakery with the Dutch door between them. Run by Sam and his mother, the Lyons Bakery sells $5K wedding cakes along with the usual. Sam is a Culinary-ed...

Ask Her at Christmas is an ideal stocking stocker for the holidays. It will keep you warm.

Caitlin McIntyre can not believe her eyes or her ears. Her best friend, Kyle Lockhart has just proposed to her. Too bad, it is not for real. Kyle is practicing on Caitlin for when he proposes to his girlfriend, Monica. Caitlin will have to try really hard to put on a happy face. Especially since she has been asked to help Kyle plan the perfect proposal. Will Caitlin speak up before it is too late? Ask Her at Christmas by Christi Barth is part of an anthology titled, Romancing the Holiday. Although this story can be read separately. I am not usually a fan of holiday stories but I thought this book was a good one. It had the feel of a good Christmas story. Also, I felt the chemistry between Caitlin and Kyle. However, I do have to say that Kyle was just like a typical guy and dense in the head. It took him a long time to figure out that Caitlin was the right woman for him. Luckily he did discover it just in the nick of time. How Kyle was able to last with Monica for as long as he did...

Cruising Toward Love

Image
Review by Nancy (Is this cover hot or what!) In Cruising Toward Love, Christi Barth has brought together four people who are destined for trouble. Trouble of various kinds, in fact! Zoe Balis was stood up at her Senior Prom ten years ago by the only man she’d ever loved. Nate Hyatt was that man. Never planning on seeing Zoe again – ever. When Zoe’s sister plans a wedding, nothing will do but that Nate is Alex’ best man and, of course; sister Zoe will be Maid of Honor. Ah…..if that were all they had to do. Somehow Alex changes his mind, runs off and sends Nate to tell Stella the psycho bride the wedding is off on the morning of the event. Stella handles things fairly well and decides that, since Zoe has done all she’s done for the wedding that she should take Stella’s cruise ticket and a vacation to the Carribean. Guess who Alex gave his ticket to? Yep, ya got it in one. The first person Zoe meets is Callie Caldwell, VERY rich woman and computer geek on her first vacation in awhile. Ca...

Act Like We're in Love

Image
Review by Nancy (my fellow reviewer and good friend) She literally bowled him over. But, in her defense, she didn’t know who he was at the time. Linnea Larson is the hometown girl made good. The star of her family’s theatre productions; cute (beautiful), nice, a good friend and a very bored woman if the truth were known. Luke, the movie star; rich kid, nice, good friend, hasn’t been on stage in a loooonnnnnggggg time is trying so hard to do a good job in Guys and Dolls that he falls fast and hard for his co-star. Unfortunately, he forgets that Minnesota isn’t West L.A. and his autographing, playing to the crowds, etc. don’t go over on a date nearly as well here. Through many miscommunications, affairs interrupted (by her MOM!) and trying to put on a good production of a favorite show and both their best friends interfering; somehow the two manage some personal time and we see if they can both adjust to how THEY want their lives to be! This is a nice book. By nice, I mean there isn’t an...
