Jack Marshall had served with Walker during the war, and now they work for The Company in postwar Vienna. With the help of Leslie, an analyst who worked undercover gathering intelligence from Hitler’s inner circle, they are tasked to do the inconceivable: recruit former Nazis with knowledge that can help the U.S. in the atomic race. But someone else is looking for these men. And when he finds them, he does not leave them alive.

In this tale of historical noir, of corruption and deceit, no one is who they say they are. Who is The Good Man in a world where an enemy may be a friend, an ally the enemy, and governments deny everything?

The Adventures of Riley & Elfy

Image
Riley Uist and his sister Elfy are mysterious little Scottish animals. The Uists have lived on faraway Scottish islands since ancient times but nobody knows anything about them. Riley and Elfy live in an underground burrow, with tunnels that go deep down. The walls are lined with little round shiny pebbles that they collect from the beach. These stories are about the adventures Riley and Elfy have with their island friends.

My Review

I just loved this book. I just know that my niece who will turn three in a few months will really enjoy this book as well. Just like me, she will fall in love with Riley and Elfy. All of the grand adventures and new friends that they met and made along the way were awesome. There was not a single story that I did not like. In fact, if you were to ask me to pick a favorite, I would not be able to do so. The illustrations were great as well. They really helped bring the stories to life. This is a recommended read for young readers.

Title: SPIKED: A RESORT TO MURDER MYSTERY III
Author: Avery Daniels
Publisher: Blazing Sword Publishing, LTD.

Genre: Cozy Mystery

My Review This is the second book I have read in this series. I read the first book and now this book. I have gone out of order. Yet, that is the nice thing about this series as the books can be read as stand alone novels. Therefore, out of chronological order. As I pointed out from the first book that the reason that I liked Julienne is because I found her to be sensible. She is still sensible but slowly maturing. Her skills as an investigator are getting better. Although, it did not hurt that she had help in the form of her ex, Liam. Who is easy on the eyes. Between the two of them they worked well together. My only issue is that I did struggle some in the beginning finding my bearing with the story as well as connecting as strongly on an emotional level with the …
