That’s what I keep telling myself when the box of supplies I’m carrying crashes to the floor. When the sexiest man in a suit to set foot in my place of employment finds me scrounging on the ground for markers and gluesticks. When he holds out a hand to help me to my feet, and his touch sends a shiver through me, just like in the movies. Book Review: For Fork's Sake

Don’t read this book unless you love: ❤️Hot, grumpy, nerdy heroes ❤️Sunshiny, do-gooder heroines ❤️Zany Found Families ❤️Small town hijinks ❤️Steamy One Night Stands ❤️Followed by Forced Proximity Smexy times SAM I hate my hometown. But whether I like it or not, I’m back. Putting me face-to-face with all the reasons I left, including the forking family I’ve been avoiding for years. What I don’t expect to find in Fork Lick? The woman who upended my world last year. Making videos with my grandmother. DIANE I know what I’m hiding. But the guy I left in bed after a steamy one-night stand… I haven’t a clue what’s going on behind those Clark Kent glasses of his. I’ve met his goofy dog Gomer, his social media-obsessed grandmother, and his sheep that lives in a palace. I know he wears a three-piece suit and a flannel shirt equally well–not to mention what he looks like underneath. I know he abruptly quit his job at that evil conglomerate. Because of something I said. What I can’t figure ...

Book Review: You Spin Me

Some scars go further than skin deep.... 1988 doesn’t end well for Jessica Abraham. In just one week, she turns 30, loses her day job, and loses the role of Ophelia to a younger actress. Rallying, she goes after a part at a theater outside of the city, but the director’s plan to hide her beauty behind hair, makeup, and wardrobe from Cosmo’s “Don't'' column shakes her confidence to the core. For the first time in her acting career, she won’t be able to rely on her carefully managed physical charms. Only her craft will count.  On a snowy night early in January 1989, a woman calls into DJ Callihan Alonso’s alt-rock radio show at the end of her commute. He asks her to call back the next night, and the next, just so he'll know she’s home safe. There's something about her voice that has him wanting more, but the longer they talk, the closer she gets. Compromising each and every wall he's built around his heart.  If two lonely people fall in love over late-night phon...

Book Review: I Want It That Way

Fake relationship? As if. I don't need a man to complete me, but to get my tubes tied before I turn thirty, I do need a husband. When former child TV star turned producing director Lukas Keith comes to me desperate for a favor, the exchange of my services for his seems like a great idea. I help him relearn how to drive a car, and he acts as my fiancé for a few doctor's visits. What could go wrong? Bingeing 90's TV shows like  Seinfeld  and  Ally McBeal  have you jonesing for a time when email and cell phones were strange new things, and an app was something you ate before the first course? Then this slow burn, fake relationship, entertainment biz romantic comedy is just what the doctor ordered. Perfect for fans of Meghan Quinn and Lucy Score seeking all the feels in a sweet and sexy romance. My Review I listened to the audio version of this book. Both of the narrators did a great job of narrating the story. I felt the southern charm of Dani due to narrator, Am...
