More Mysteries with Eve

 

Murder always seems to strike…
at the worst possible time.
Life threw a curve ball at dog trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, that she never expected. After the loss of her landlord, his widow asked if there’s any way that Eve can move out by Christmas. Since she never signed her new lease, Eve knows she doesn’t have many options and has to act quickly.

My Review

House hunting is already difficult enough. Yet, you add in your real estate agent expiring and now you have a conundrum on your hands. 

This is the exact situation that Eve and Aidan find themselves in. Luckily for Eve, she is a pro by now with solving mysteries. Although this one has her a little stumped. There are many suspects as it seems that her real estate agent was not well liked. 

I did the audiobook version of this book. Julie is a familiar voice for this series. She as usual does a really good job of voicing all of the characters. I started the audiobook and before I knew it, I was finished with it. I kind of felt for the suspect. Happy news through is that Eve and Aidan now have a permanent home.

Sometimes learning history… Can be murder.

When a landowner discovers some old, human bones on his property, Search and Rescue Dog Trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, and her furry buddy, Atlas, are called in to make sure that all of the remains are found. Things take a dark turn, however, when they find a collection of newer bones mixed in with the old. Realizing that they have stumbled upon a historical site that was used to cover up more current crimes, Eve is determined to find the perpetrator.

One thing is certain; whoever the killer is, they clearly know quite a bit about Granite and the surrounding area. Eve can only hope that they’re not watching the site because she doesn’t want to become the latest victim.

My Review

I was fully invested in this story. Everything checks all the marks with this story...engaging characters, intriguing storyline, and great pacing of the story. 

This time around I found Tiana's nosy neighbor as not so annoying but quirky in a fun way. I was laughing at what he said. He actually came off as lonely which made me sad as well. It was great to visit with Tiana again. She and Eve are so great together. 

I will admit that I had the suspect figured out early on in the story but not the motive. Yet, this did not take away from my experience of this story. I still enjoyed listening to Julie narrate the ALC. 

Taking a trip down memory lane… Can be murder.

On her way back from teaching her dog training class, amateur sleuth, Eve, decided to drive by her old house just for fun and to see whether her old landlord, Marissa, has decorated for Christmas yet. When she saw that the front door had been left open, she was concerned and stopped by to check on the older woman.

Once inside the house, Eve discovered that Marissa had been murdered. She’s utterly horrified and can’t help but feel beyond guilty at being a little relieved that the awful event occurred after she and her dogs had already moved out.

But when unsettling events begin to happen, Eve realizes she might have been the true target all along. Whoever killed Marissa must have thought that Eve was still living in that house, and it certainly seems like now that they’ve realized their mistake, they’re out to get her again… and they won’t make the same mistake twice.

My Review

Eve's motto is "Murder follows". This is so true. She goes back to her old home and again a body appears. What should be a holly, jolly, time is anything but with a dead body. 

I got invested in this story right away. It kept my interest for sure. I love the twists and turns in the story. It kept me on my toes. In fact, while I usually can figure out the whole case, this time I had it half solved and got surprised. This was nice as I don't want to always figure out the case. 

To get the full immersive experience, grab the ALC as well. If you enjoy solo narration, then, you will want to grab.
