Anu Desai is, and always has been, a well-behaved grown-up... at least according to the definition of her traditional Indian family. She married her first boyfriend Neil, gave up her career to be a mother to her daughter Kanika, takes care of her home, and shows up for every family gathering. On the surface, she has a good life. But inside? She is utterly unhappy. Weighed down by years of silence, she finally speaks up. And the first thing she wants is a separation. After this shocking decision, Anu and Neil, their daughter, and their families must all adjust to their new lives.
