If you have read the Bible than you are familiar with the story of Samuel. However I bet you did not know the other version of the story. The one that goes where Samuel killed his brother, Jacob because he was not himself. He was something else. Someone people call these creatures blood suckers, undead, or vampires. Samuel is trying to come to grips with his actions. However he better watch himself as he has a stalker. One that wants to turn him into one of them. I have read several books by this author. Yet Plain Fear: Forgiven is the first of the Plain Fear books I have read. The idea of vampires and a biblical story I admit are not something I would ever think I would mix or that I would say in the same sentence. Well after reading this book I have to say the two worked out alright. Because of the type of book it was the vampires were not portrayed too evil or too blood thirty. In fact the few scenes that there were of killings was quick and painless with no gore....

Bryn Seymour was only nine years old when her mother died. She will never forget the day. It was the same day that the Apollo 11 was launched. Now years later, Bryn is attending the commemoration of the Apollo 11 launch. Bryn hears her name being called. She turns and meets a man by the name of Howard Walter. I really enjoyed Ruby’s Slippers by Leanna Ellis. Her latest novel, Once in a Blue Moon missed the mark for me, just a little. It still had the quirkiness that I loved about her last book but I didn’t get a full connection with the characters. Dottie Meyers and Dorothy Gale from the Wizard of Oz have many things in common. They both own a little black dog and they both live on a farm in Kansas. Just like Dorothy; Dottie gets knocked unconscious by some debris during a tornado. Unfortunately Dottie does not end up in the wonderful world of Oz. Dottie instead wakes up in a nursing home in California. Dottie receives a mysterious package. Inside the package is a pair of ruby red slippers. The slippers were left by Dottie’s father. Someone who she has not seen since she was a little girl. Dottie decides to go on a road trip to find her father. She is accompanied by some really wild and crazy companions. I don’t know where to start. There are so many things I liked about this book…from the beginning, everything in the middle, till the very end. Who I enjoyed the most through was Sophia.
