Miriam and Emily are friends. Their two husbands work together as firefighters. A fire breaks out at a school. Miriam and Emily hear that some firefighters have been rushed to the hospital. They go to the hospital only to learn that Miriam’s husband did not make it. Now faced with having to raise three sons alone Miriam finds support in Jamal, Emily’s husband. Things started out innocent but they soon heat up. Never Say Never is the newest book from author, Victoria Christopher Murray. This is about my fourth book that I have read from this author. I have enjoyed every single one of the books I have read. Even though I have liked all the books I have read thus far from this author for some reason I did have my reservations about this one and how much I would like it. I should not have worried. This book was a good one. There was an instantaneous connection with Miriam, Emily and their friend, Michellelee. I liked all three women for various reasons. Emily for being so kindheart...

Victoria Christopher Murray scores a perfect melody with Destiny's Divas!

Raine, Sierra, and Liza are Destiny's Divas. They are a singing group. Although, they are a little different. As they don't just sing but also preach. Sierra preaches to women about virginity. Raine was a former superstar singer and then she found her calling with Destiny's Divas. Liza is the wife of a pastor. These three women look to rise to the top. The only thing that can stop them is murder. This is the third book I have read by this author. I just love her. She really brings to life her characters. She usually writes about strong women with a faith in God. My favorite was Raine. She had a lot to really fight for with her mother in law when it came to her daughter, Nadia. Old traditions mixed with the technology world of the present. I knew what Raine's mother in law's intent was when she was refering for Nadia and the procedure she wanted to do to her. I felt sorry for Nadia. I had read this tradition in another book. It is a terrible thing. Sierra, I di...

Jasmine Larson Bush never imagined that she could become the first lady. The first lady of the American Baptist Coalition (ABC) that is. Her husband Hosea informs Jasmine that he has been nominated by the church to represent the North division for the ABC. Now all Jasmine can picture is all the things she will do once she is the first lady. Though, first her husband has to win and he is running against Rachel’s husband, Lester. Rachel can not wait until she becomes the first lady. Than she can hang out with Michelle…Obama that is! Rachel knows she is the right woman for the job. Besides what type of woman is Jasmine that her secrets can by found on the website Dirt Diggers? When the current first lady of the ABC will not step down without a fight, will Jasmine and Rachel band together to take down the current first lady or will it be every woman for herself? I read The Deal, the Dance, and the Devil by Ms. Murray and enjoyed it. So when I read about this collaboration she did with new ...

The Deal, the Dance, and the Devil is a must read!

Adam and Eva Langston have come a long way from where they both grown up in the slums of Washington, D.C. They have three children, a nice house, cars and they are being in the money. Well they were bringing in the money. This is until Adam was let go from his job. Now with the recession, they are trying to survive on a one person income. When Eva’s boss, Shay-Shaunte makes an offer to Eva, she must choose whether to make the deal with the devil. What Eva and Adam were going through is what is currently happening to people in the real world. This is what made this book so good. I could relate literally to Eva and Adam’s situation. Of course, I am lucky that I don’t have to make the choice that Eva and Adam had to make with Shay-Shaunte. Though, the devil can appear in many different forms and with many different temptations. This was surprising to me that this book was based around the devil and the Bible somewhat. I was not expecting this. This was a nice surprise. I was rooting for E...
