Book Review: One More Bite

Image
He’s waited eighty years to find her. She was just trying to survive a bachelorette party. When Hazel walks into the Monster Resort, the last thing she expects is to become the obsession of a fiercely lonely vampire. Desmond is cold, most certainly lethal, and looking at her like she’s the only thing keeping him sane. As the chaotic weekend pushes them closer together, Hazel has a choice: run back to her safe, mundane life, or surrender to the monster who promises to never let her go. This short story features explicit scenes, consensual blood-drinking, and an eighty-year accumulation of looking for his blood-bound. Hide your necks and read responsibly! Any book in the Monster Resort series can be read as a standalone. My Review It is always a fun time when I check into the Monster Resort. This time Desmond is on the hunt to find his blood mate. As soon as he gets her scent, he gets up close and very personal with Hazel. Hazel thought she was just attending her sister's wedding. ...

Guaranteed HEAs Female Fairy / Male Human Low Angst, Medium Heat Grab the complete collection today and see why these human men are falling for the  Faeries of Arydis . My Review This is a really fun collection of short stories. Each one features a different tooth fairy, who finds their "human" mate. The children are not the only ones that got a "reward" when the tooth faeries visited! I thought the stories were good lengths. They were not too long or too short that I felt like anything was rush or missed. I was satisfied by the end of each story. It was fu...

Book Review: She Doesn’t Mind

Image
He came to the woods to find a cure. He found his fate instead. Alder has one mission: find the rare sparkweed to save his dying grandmother. He knows the local legends—that the forest is haunted, that it hungers, that people who go in rarely come out. But desperation makes men brave, and Alder steps into the trees believing he is the hunter. He’s wrong. With every step, the air grows heavier. His legs turn to lead. His thoughts begin to dissolve into a sweet, terrifying fog. And the predator waiting in the shadows isn’t a beast. It’s Eden. She is the guardian of these woods, and her methods are… unconventional. She’s watched Alder from the start, admiring his determination, waiting for the poison to take hold. Eden doesn’t mind that he’s struggling. She doesn’t mind that he’s scared. In fact, she prefers it. Because once the fog clears, he’ll belong to her. She Doesn’t Mind  is a darker monster romance short story (approx. 5k words). It features a dominant female monster wh...

Book Review: A Tree for Olive

Image
Kostas, a Pane made directly from the god Pan himself, neglected his duties. Many of his flock were lost to disease and predators until a crone curses him, making him pay for his abandonment. His flesh now the bark of a olive tree, his hand and legs now its branches and roots. The human healer Olive needs oil. The palliative elements of the natural remedy will help many people she serves. Out searching for fresh fruit, she discovers more than she bargained for. When the air becomes thick, fogging her brain, she's in for a wild afternoon. My Review Kostas did not mean to anger a Pan, but he is now suffering the consequences as an olive tree. To break the curse, he will have to find someone who can bring out the best in him. Kostas never thought the day would come when he could be himself again as he has been a tree for fourteen years.  This all changes when Olive, a healer comes upon him. Like literally. Olive is not afraid of Kostas and feels a connection with him. While the...

Book Review: Bass Desires

Image
What do you get when you mix a love-sick human sous chef with a bass playing goblin? Omeg trades his soul-sucking corporate career for a dream—playing the double bass in a place that is nothing short of paradise, the Monster Resort. There, the little human Dottie enters his life. She's young, charismatic... and the most alluring creature he's ever encountered. What would someone like her ever want with a cane-user, older creature like him? Then why is she nothing but shy when he's around? Bass Desires is a 9k word paranormal romance short story with open door scenes, adult language, and a guaranteed happily ever after. There is mention of past physical trauma and the resulting long-term effects throughout the story. Any book in the Monster Resort series can be read as a standalone. My Review Dot and Bass are great together. Age is just a number. There were no barriers when it came to the age difference between these two. What I liked the most through was the height differ...

Book Review: Villains Need Love Too

Image
The One of Judgment Faysal has always been the one to judge. The one to decide. But this... creature is claiming she knows his fate. As if the insignificant being would know such things. For he is not one to be trifled with, no. Faysal has seen worlds come. And he has seen worlds go.  Yet he remains. Persistent. Inevitable. Judgment. Yet still, the clairvoyant in front of him has claimed the one meant for only him, the one he will cherish for all time, was born this day. Of Scales and Judgment by Elliot Ason Faysal has waited so long for a mate. As soon as Ada is born, he knows she is his fated mate. He is not going to let her go.  Ada and Faysal had fun in the beginning but then something happened, and it tore them apart. While Ada may not have wanted Faysal around, he was still always watching her. The connection their shared is not one that can be broken.  I felt the angst that these two shared. A enemies to lovers/fated mates love connection. Despite Ada being ...

Book Review: Anthropologists Like It Wet

Image
Despite numerous reported sightings, anthropologist Alice knows the infamous river monster Haltamaha-ya doesn't really exist. All she wants is to get this land survey around the river done so she can go home and get back to her life. But after a run-in with a mysterious stranger she finds herself looking deeper and deeper into the river... and its inhabitants. River guardian Holt—a true creature of legend—is determined to stop the development plans near his nest. But when he sees the small female human cataloging his home he decides to take a closer look. What he discovers will change both of their lives forever. This is a MF monster romance short story with adult language and open door scenes. My Review I enjoyed this short romance story. I am a sucker for a "tail" romance. In regard to the concept of this story, it is unique, and I enjoyed that aspect. The chemistry that Alice and Holt shared is sweet. After finishing this story, I wished that it was a bit longer.  Al...

Book Review: Sugar and Spice (A Man in the Moon)

Image
The Romance Riot presents an assortment of stories that range from sweet to spicy. A Man in the Moon by Elliot Ason A man, his soul cursed and tied to the moon itself. The hex only to be broken by a love written in the stars. A witch, alone and in need of a miracle. On the night of a full moon her devotions are at last answered by an alluring stranger. 🌛🌛🌛 Trigger Warnings: Open Door Scenes | Main Character Cursed by a Deity | Off-page Sibling/Parental Death | Some Adult Language | Female Infertility is Very Briefly Mentioned | Financial Insecurity My Review A Man in the Moon by Elliot Ason I really enjoyed this story. The concept is unique about the Man in the Moon. A quick read.  I felt a connection towards both Samara and Darcel. The fact that Samara is an outsider but feels a connection towards the Man in the Moon is sweet. Yet, there is nothing "sweet" about the encounter between Samara and Darcel. Nope, the few scenes they share together are spicy.

Book Review: Rumbling Rattlers

Image
The Ridgeclaw brothers rule the county through their motorcycle club the Rumbling Rattlers. Every woman wants to be with the charismatic lizard man but for some reason Cannon Ridgeclaw has his sights set on me, a human. But I'm not so sure I'm ready for the attention. Six months ago my ex dropped me like I was nothing more than a bag of potatoes and guess who was there to comfort me? After a wild night of passion I selfishly pushed Cannon away, but even months later his eyes are still on only me. Can I wade through my insecurities and come out on the other side ready to give Cannon the partner he deserves? This is a 9k word, dual POV, MF short story monster romance between a lizard person male main character and a female human main character. There's both implied and acted upon species prejudice, explicit open door scenes, adult language, a jealous ex, mentions of pain from medical conditions, and corrupt government officials. My Review Cannon may be a MC biker but undern...
