Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods

Warren the 13th is back in another lushly illustrated middle grade adventure.

This sequel to Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye begins soon after the first book’s conclusion. Twelve-year-old Warren has learned that his beloved hotel can walk, and now it’s ferrying guests around the countryside, transporting tourists to strange and foreign destinations. But when an unexpected detour brings everyone into the dark and sinister Malwoods, Warren finds himself separated from his hotel and his friends—and racing after them on foot through a forest teeming with witches, snakes, talking trees, and mind-boggling riddles. Once again, you can expect stunning illustrations and gorgeous design from Will Staehle on every page—along with plenty of nonstop action and adventure!

My Review

Warren, Uncle Rupert, Petula, Mr. Friggs, Chef Bunion, Sketchy, and Beatrice are back. This book does pick up from the first one but not to worry as you can still read this book having not read the first one. However, I can tell you that after reading this book you will want to go back and read Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye.

The characters that author, Tania has created for this series is great. They are all diverse but that is what makes them so great. Each one brings something fun to the story. Although, Uncle Rupert is just a big child in an adult's body. There were some super stars in this book. Petula, Mr. Friggs, and Sketchy all got more leading roles this time. It was nice to see Petula having that lead role. I got to know her better and she had a few new surprises this time. Of course, everyone loves Sketchy.

Additionally, this book took the readers outside of the hotel and introduced some new villains and friends. I can't wait to see what new grand adventure the gang encounter in the next book. Warren is a loveable hero. Warren for president!
