Book Review: Bells

Image
Obsession. Nah, I wouldn’t call it that. Obsession would imply I gave a damn about the little rodent I was swiping between my paws right now. And the only thing I gave a damn about was whatever could give me the quickest high. This was more of a curiosity… a cat kicking around a dead mouse right before he dropped it off on someone’s doorstep. Which was exactly what I was instructed to do. You find a rat, you call an exterminator. It was simple math. It was also a real Mr. and Mrs. Kuznetsov situation we had going on, seeing as my kotyonok thought she had claws. Little did she know, the only difference between a death toll and a dinner bell was whoever was holding the fork. And this feline couldn’t wait to dig in. Ding-ding, baby. Ding-motherf*cking-ding. My Review It was a long while since I read Skin, so I actually had to go back and kind of re-read to remind myself of Casper. This book is just what love in dark and I mean dark romances. In fact, I would call it more pitch bla...

Book Review: Catching His Eye

Image
Ren, the nerdy cyclops, desperately wants a partner, but has been unlucky in love both on monster and human dating apps. He thinks he’s too much for anyone to want. But when this shy sweetheart accidentally starts a private with his gorgeous human camgirl obsession, he might just find the one who can fit him into their heart—and elsewhere! Catching His Eye is a fast burn, spicy monster romance novella featuring a shy cyclops MMC, a plus size human FMC who doesn't know monsters are real, and a mischievous cat who accidentally plays matchmaker. This novella is set in the Monsters of Moonvale universe, but is a standalone story. My Review I am a fan of "camgirl" stories. The FMCs are empowering. The stories are better when the FMC is curvy. You get it, girl! Ahh, Ren. I liked him but I fell in love with him more when I found out that he is a bit shy. Never would have imagined that a big cyclops would be a softie. He and Emma's private chat started out very rocky and aw...

Book Review: Sunscreen and Spellbooks

Image
What you will find inside this book: ☀️ Meet Cute ☀️ Small Town/Beach Town Romance ☀️ Shifter x Witch  ☀️ Opposites Attract Welcome to Crescent Cove—where the sun shines, secrets linger, and every tide brings a little magic. Catherine Prescott doesn’t believe in magic. Not anymore. Once a prodigy witch, now a burnt-out marketing exec, she’s traded spells for spreadsheets—until a sudden layoff leaves her with nothing but severance pay and an invitation to housesit her aunt’s beach cottage in Crescent Cove. Her summer plans? Sunscreen, solitude, and maybe a little self-discovery. Reality? A mischievous dog, a house full of enchanted junk, and a maddeningly handsome marine biologist who insists she’s “disrupting leyline energy.” Elliot Fitzgerald is sunshine in human form—tanned, barefoot, and entirely too charming. He’s also a sea lion shifter sworn to protect the cove’s magic. When Cat accidentally stirs dormant power beneath the waves, he offers to teach her how to control i...

Book Review: Ravenous Rhinos

Image
Don’t Leave ‘Em Hungry In an attempt to alleviate some of Garrett’s work stress, Chloe and Kyle take him to Treasure Trove’s Rhino Room, where the rhinos do more than just chomp. With battles over balls, trials of endurance, and copious side bets, will the bottoms come out on top? No matter what the leaderboard shows, everyone is sure to leave a winner. Ravenous Rhinos is Book 4 in the Treasure Trove Series. The stories are sequential but can be read as standalones. Treasure Trove is a sentient object playroom located in the basement of everyone’s favorite toy shop, Hidden Treasures. Created by one of the Kyleverse’s favorite meddlers, Garrett, it’s home to some objects you’ve met before and some you’ll love to meet. Unlike in the Kyleverse, while there are many happy endings, these aren’t true romances. Everyone will leave more than satisfied, though. My Review This novella is SPICY!! I would say strap in, but you might like it too much, just ask Chloe.  If you ever played ...

Book Review: Losers Duet

Image
A former prom queen bully returns to her hometown only to become entangled in a steamy game of revenge and redemption with the four boys–now dangerously attractive men–she used to torment in the first of Harley Laroux’s infamously dark, sexy, queer, why-choose duology – perfect for readers of Sadie Kincaid, LJ Shen, and Eva Ashwood. NOW A DELUXE LIMITED EDITION paperback with foiled cover, stenciled edges, and two-sided tip-in fan art! I was supposed to have it all. I’d been Prom Queen, Cheer Captain - high school’s most savage Queen Bee. I could have everything I wanted. Except them. The freaks, the weirdos, the school’s ultimate losers: Manson, Jason, Lucas, and Vincent. Our hatred for each other couldn’t keep us apart, not even when my own mistake got Manson expelled and made me the ultimate villain to the rest of them. One night was supposed to be enough. I couldn’t resist forever. For one night I gave myself over to the men I wasn’t supposed to want and satisfied the darkest...

Book Review: When the Ink Is Dry

Image
Tropes: -Billionaire -Fake Engagement -Best Friend's Brother -Attorney/Client -Small Age Gap (5 years) From author A.R. Rose comes a billionaire romance perfect for readers who loved Gossip Girl mixed with tension, angst, humor, and spice. What do alcohol, Paris, and a hot guy have in common? Evidently, me. The last thing I expected when I went to Paris on a work trip was to drink too much and end up legally wed. What I really didn’t expect was to wake up the next day and have no recollection of what happened. Now, more than a year later, my husband has shown up in my penthouse foyer, waving our marriage license in my face and demanding I step into the role of his wife. The only person who can help me get rid of this little legal problem I’ve found myself in is Manhattan’s most prestigious divorce attorney, Luciano Paladino. Oh, did I mention my new attorney is also my best friend’s brother? My best friend’s super grumpy, sinfully hot, older brother, who just so happens to hate m...

Audiobook Review: Hearts to Mend

Image
Rico Rodriguez was my first friend, first kiss, and first love. Then he was my first heartbreak. Seven years ago, he left me and this small town to join the Army. Now he’s back, a single dad in search of a second chance. But I’m not the girl he left behind, and I have no interest in taking a walk down memory lane. It will take more than his sexy smile, sweet son, and meddling mom to mend this broken heart. Hearts to Mend is a sexy, full-length, small town, second chance romance with an own-voices depiction of surviving a major medical crisis. Featuring a single dad hero and a firefighter heroine, Hearts to Mend is Book Two of the Hearts of Texas series, but it can be read as a standalone. My Review Warning: This book features a cute kid!  Yes, that is right. Rico's son, Mateo. He is a cutie pie. Every scene that Mateo was in, he stole the show I loved him so much. My love for him was instant unlike the love that Dee and Rico shared. Yes, they had history and there is still...

Book Review: Fortune Fae Academy: Book One

Image
I never asked to be an Omega. I’m a Fortune Fae—I see the future. But I didn’t see this coming. My Alpha will stop at nothing to possess me and has dragged me all the way to Fortune Fae Academy to join the other wide-eyed Omegas-in-training. He believes I’ll survive--and I hope he’s right. He also believes I’ll kneel at his feet. He couldn’t be more wrong about that. I don’t need three broody Betas and an asshat Alpha telling me what to do. When I graduate the Academy as an ascended Omega, I’m rejecting my mate-circle and getting the hell out of here. Except there’s one slight problem. My Alpha has seen the future too… and he knows something I don’t. Whatever he thinks is going to happen, his cruel smirk says I’m not going anywhere. Fortune Fae Academy is Book 1 in a Reverse Harem Omegaverse Romance. Be warned there are obsessive males who will stop at nothing to claim their fated mate. As this is a series, book 1 ends on a cliffhanger. My Review Gina is feisty. Don't count her...
