Book Review: Promising Today
Nova Emerson has no time for love. Burned by past relationships, all she wants to do is avoid conflict and focus on her cannabis farm. But when the feisty, curvaceous woman ends up with a flat tire and confronts two sketchy men, she’s suspicious when a handsome stranger comes to her rescue.
Jude King is growing frantic. Hunting for answers, the retired Navy SEAL thinks the scrappy beauty he helps on the side of the road could be the key to the breakthrough he craves. So when she approaches him a day later about a pretend relationship to thwart her mom’s matchmaking, the slow-to-trust grump jumps at the opportunity to extract information.
Surrendering to their wicked sexual attraction, Nova’s make-believe boyfriend turns out to be the Daddy she needs to liberate her darkest needs. And just as Jude suspects his search has hit a dead end, he fears the sadistic killer circling them both is about to inflict some serious pain.
Can he protect the no-nonsense woman from a shadowy predator, or will dangerous secrets tear them apart?
Promising Today is the intense fourth and last book in The Emerson Family of Shattered Cove contemporary romance series. If you like spirited heroines, grumpy heroes, and steamy scenes, then you’ll savor A. M. Kusi’s emotional roller coaster.
Jude and Nova are ying and yang, but they work perfectly together. The witty banter filled with innuendos! The anticipation of these two hooking up was high, yet so worth it. Um, hello spicy goodness! Jude can take me anytime.
Jude may be a Navy SEAL but don't discount Nova as she is one strong woman. She can fight as well.
I will miss the Emerson siblings. This family shares a close-knit bond with one another. I feel like I am an honorary member of this family. This is all thanks to A.M. as every one of their books feature engaging characters with emotional stories that draw you in.
