Book Review: All the Stars We Buried

To save their worlds, they must destroy each other.

When a deadly corruption infects Verena Cedarstone’s forest and someone she loves, she is willing to risk anything to find a cure.

Even trusting Xandros Umbriel.

The fae prince comes from the world her people sealed away generations ago. Verena was raised to fear his kind. Xandros has every reason to hate hers. But his kingdom is dying too, and the same darkness is consuming both their worlds.

When their magic becomes inexplicably bound, they are forced to work together to uncover the truth behind the corruption. Every answer exposes another lie. Every secret pulls them closer. And every moment between them makes their forbidden attraction harder to deny.

But Xandros will sacrifice anything to save his people.

So will Verena.

With time running out, they must decide whether to remain loyal to the worlds that made them enemies or risk everything for the bond that may be their only chance to survive.

All the Stars We Buried is an emotional fantasy romance featuring enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, forced proximity, reluctant allies, ancient prophecy, devastating sacrifice, and two dying worlds.

My Review

Verena and Xandros may not like each other, but they share a common goal. They both want to save their people and land. So, they put up with each other and work together. You can feel the tension between them but as the story progresses, the tone changes and they warm up to one another.

"He reached through the divide and closed his hand around my wrist."

This story picks up and takes off running right away. There is no down time in the story. It is fast paced all the way through, which I liked a lot. The world building that the author created for this story is something that I really liked. My only downside is that I did feel like there were a lot of characters introduced into the story really fast and all at the same time. So, it did take me some time to get everyone straight and what role they played in the story. Yet, once I did, I was able to enjoy the storyline. I will be checking out more books by this author.
