Book Review: Alaska Lights
Two hundred years is a long time to live.
And in six more months, I’ll finally be free.
My body aches. My blood is thick. I’m losing my temper.
I’m out of control.
I’m tired of outliving everyone I care about.
My soul has taken a beating, and I’m done getting back up.
But of course, my plans are ruined.
Like always.
The bush pilot delivering our supplies crashes.
When I find him, the weight of death escapes me.
All that matters is saving him.
That’s another surprise.
Fate decided for my mate to be a man.
I don’t know the first thing about being with a man.
Neither does he.
On top of navigating us, we learn his plane was sabotaged.
He’s my reason to live now.
No one will jeopardize that.
Not even vampire hunters.
Two hundred years of rage is about to be set free.
And I’ll bathe in their blood if it means keeping Leo safe.
Only one question burns in my mind now…
Can I get him to love a man like me?
My Review
Alaska is the definition of grumpy. He is isolated and that is now he likes it. The only human that he "kind of" considers his friend" is Earl, the bush pilot that delivers his monthly supplies. Otherwise, the thought of people makes Alaska say this..."People make my fangs descend and not in the I'm thirsty' kind of way."
There is a new pilot and his name is Leo. An accident causes Leo to become stuck with Alaska. Alaska can't resist Leo's scent. It smells like honey. Thus, the reason that Leo became known as Honeybee.
"Go on. Kiss him. This is the moment. Kiss him!"
I thought I had a favorite in this series, but I got to say after meeting Alaska, he just might have become my favorite of the three vampires. I love that he and Leo found themselves in a forced proximity situation. Which happens to be a favorite trope of mine. Ooh and don't forger one bed trope as well. The angst is feral between these two. I was eating it all up with a spoon. Take me away cowboy. Looking for your next read to keep you warm during the cold, winter nights, then you have to read Alaska Lights by January Rayne. It is not to be missed!
