Book Review: Ripe

Welcome to Ward Farm. Come hungry. Leave satisfied.

Ward Farm has rules.

Eat.
Drink.
Wear the mask.
Join the revel.
And when the Hunt begins… run.

It’s supposed to be a Halloween festival.

Bonfires. Booze. Costumes. A midnight chase through the corn maze where consenting adults volunteer to hunt or be hunted.

Then I pull the red ribbon.

Apparently, I wasn’t supposed to.

Now the corn whispers my name. Roots move beneath my feet. Something buried beneath Ward Farm is waking after centuries of silence.

And three masked men are looking at me like they’ve been waiting their entire lives for me to arrive.

The Tiller prepares.
The Sower plants.
The Reaper takes.
And the Bride grows.

I came here for one reckless night with my friends.

Instead, I’ve been chosen for a ritual no one remembers how to stop.

The deeper I run, the more the farm comes alive.

The worse part?

I’m not sure I want these men to stop chasing me.

Because Ward Farm is hungry.

So am I.

And by the end of the night, one of us is going to get exactly what it came for.

Some things are meant to be harvested.
Others are meant to become RIPE.

My Review

Sage is one very, very lucky woman. She finds not one but three men waiting for her within the corn maze. Malakai, Rhett and Ezra can chase me any time. In fact, I would not even run from them. Ok, maybe run a little. That chase scene between Rhett and Sage was hot.

"He smells like smoke from the bonfire...like Earth with a side of something beneath it."

All three men are on equal playing field. If you asked me for a favorite, I would tell you all three. Gimmie all the spice. The harvest has chosen its bride.

Ashlynn does it again. It was like Ashlynn knew just what I needed for Halloween. No tricks here, just all treats. This book is amazing. I devoured it like a yummy, delicious, sweet treat. The whole time I was reading this book, it was like a movie playing in my head. I know just what I will be dreaming of next. Read this book now!
