Audiobook Reviews: Whined Up, Over Bite, and Fright Fest
The best laid plans…
Can be murder.
Wedding bells are ringing as dog trainer and amateur sleuth Eve’s special day gets closer. To calm her pre-wedding jitters, she’s looking forward to a weekend away with Tiana, April, and Alice in a cozy rental cabin. Her friends have a whole host of activities planned and since the cabin is dog-friendly, she’ll be able to bring her furry companions. Aidan will be having time away with the guys nearby as well.
The weekend is just what Eve needed, and everything is going as planned until Aidan and the guys stumble upon a murder scene.
The situation grows darker when they realize that the killer saw Aidan at the scene.
The whole gang works together to try and catch a killer before the killer catches Aidan. Can they crack the case before heading down the aisle?
My Review
I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. It was great to see everyone together in this book. I have grown close and fond of this group. It might sound funny to say but it was a nice change up that the guys were the ones that stumbled upon a dead body. What ensues after is quite a fast paced mystery. Such a fun read.
Sometimes it takes real teeth…
To take a bite out of crime.
Newly married dog-trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, is thrilled when her best friend, Tiana, gives birth to a beautiful and healthy baby. Since Tiana is on maternity leave, a temp worker is covering for her at the dental clinic where she works. Things at the clinic take a dark turn when a part-time dentist is murdered.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Eve has to juggle solving the crime while trying to keep Tiana from getting too stressed, all while adjusting to married life and keeping up with her various responsibilities.
When a young dentist turns up and offers to take a full-time position, it seems too good to be true and makes Eve wonder if the new dentist killed the part-timer to take his job.
Can Eve drill down to the facts in the case and cap it off by catching a killer? Find out in this exciting Canine Cozy Mystery!
My Review
Ahh, Tiana has her baby. So excited for her. This leaves Eve having to training a temp staff member to help fill in while Tiana is out on extended leave. A sleuth's job is never-ending. Eve has quite the task on her hands to solve this mystery. Turn up the volume on this ALC. Julie does a great job as always with narrating the audiobook.
Sometimes taking a bite out of crime…
Requires more than teeth.
Search and Rescue dog trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, is delighted when she is approached about giving a dog training demonstration at the Granite Rock Festival. Willow might be retired, but she’ll enjoy one last big hurrah, and it will be a great chance for Duke, who recently got certified as a search dog, and Atlas, to show off their various skills as well.
While performing the demonstration, Eve notices some suspicious activity near the stall where Pete Oswald is selling his jerky. Hours later, Atlas discovers a body.
Later, it’s discovered that someone sabotaged some of Pete’s wares to try and shut him down and it’s suspected that it’s likely the same man who was killed. Everyone who knows Pete knows how passionate he is about his jerky business, making him an obvious suspect, but Eve is convinced he’s innocent.
Can she crack a case as tough as Pete’s jerky and catch a killer? Find out in this exciting Canine Cozy Mystery!
My Review
This story is a twisty and turny, fun read. I was hooked on this story. It sure kept my interest. All of the characters played good and important roles in the story. Not as side characters. I listened to the ALC version of this book. To enjoy the full experience, you will want to listen to the audiobook while reading the book.
