You will get “Lost” in this book with the twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end.

There is a serial killer on the loose. Eleven year-old Barney Roberts is all too familiar. He has read the headlines and visited the facebook page. He knows that he could be next. In fact the killer could be closer then he realizes.

His next door neighbor, London police detective Lacey Flint is on an extended leave from her job. Even though she is not on the case she would do anything to protect Barney.

Lost is the latest release from S.J. Bolton. I can remember reading the first book by this author, Sacrifice and being in awe. I have not read any of the prior Lacey Flint books and kind of fell behind on my reading of this author’s books. So there was a little disconnect in the beginning with Dana, Mark, and Lacey and all of what has been happening in their lives. However nothing that distracted me from this book. I did gather some bits and pieces about who Lacey is.

In fact I liked her but she came a second best only because she was outshined by Barney. Barney was a fascinating kid and very smart. They way that he figured out how to write coded messages in newspaper ads to find his mother was very genius. I thought the take on who the serial killer was had an interesting twist. However I was not really buying into the whole “vampire” theory.

The part that I felt was the weakest was the ones involving the other detective Dana and her partners trying to solve the case. It did not seem like they brought much to the story. However still a good book. You will get “Lost” in this book with the twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end.
