California Schemin’ will have you in stitches…laughing your head off!

Even when Bella “Bree” MacGowan leaves Vermont for California to spend it with her boyfriend, she can not escape the dead. While out taking pictures, Bree watches in horror as a woman falls off a bridge into the water. Without a second thought, Bree dives into the water, only to discover that the woman has been shot in the head. As if things could not get any worse, Bree has to contend with the aftermass of a murder. Bree has to worry about the killer coming after her. Can Bree solve the murder before she ends up the next victim?

California Schemin’ by Kate George is the first book I have read but this author. This book is the second Bree MacGowan mystery story. It can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone novel. Bree is a hoot. She is not afraid to face fear head on and she is sarcastic to boot. Two of my favorite qualities. Of course the situations that Bree found herself in were pretty funny as well. The characters Bree meets are some interesting ones. They really made this story exciting. There were some surprises along the way. They are well placed ones. After reading this book, I plan to go back and check out the first Bree MacGowan novel, Moonlighting in Vermont. California Schemin’ will have you in stitches…laughing your head off!
