I was seven years old when my father died from a heart attack that claimed his life at a young age. He was my mother's soulmate, it broke her heart, and she vowed never to marry again.

The two of us lived a quiet and comfortable life, thanks to my father's millions, and although we only had each other, we were happy. Then she met Fritz, a wealthy billionaire with two adult children of his own, and things started to change.

It was no longer just the two of us. After they married, Mom and I quickly moved into the Miami mansion that Fritz shared with his twin sons, Sven and Mirko, two very successful college graduates. And it wasn't too long before the two of them took an instant disliking toward me.

Then when tragedy struck on that cold January evening right after New Year's, killing both my mother and stepfather, Sven and Mirko had only one thing on their minds—to make my life a living hell. Stay, and be their servant, day in and day out, or leave and live on the streets without money or food.

And from that moment on, my life was anything but the fairytale.

My Review

I have read many Cinderella retelling books but this is my first MM one. It is so good. It was refreshing to read a male retelling of this story. While, I might have did a little comparison side by side in my head from the original to this story, there was enough different elements to make the story its own.

Instantly, I felt an emotional connection towards Rick. After the lose of his mother, who he was close to, he should have been able to find support with his new stepbrothers. Unfortunately, he was treated like the hired help. His stepbrothers, Sven and Mirko are horrible people. My anger towards them was fierce. Luckily for rick, he had his best friend, Ethan and his love interest Hayden to support him.

Readers of MM and retelling stories will want to pick up a copy of this book. Cinderfella is a spicy and magical read!
