Book Review: The Tales of The Scorned

 

There are four different volumes of these charity anthologies. I read the following stories from volume two and four.  

Vibes by H.N. DeFore

Wiccan beliefs and mentions of witchcraft,
Sentient object romance,
Cursed men,
Unique revenge plot,


Open door sex (for all the smutty goodness), CLIFFHANGER ending with a HFN femme revenge plot,

and a romance plot coming in the fall of 2025


I am already a fan of H.N. I love her books. This short story is sinfully delicious. Um, like I am going to need more as I need to know what happens to Iris and Lachlan. Does Lachlan finally learn his lesson and what about the other men. 


Doe Eyed by Karlee Berrios

Doe Eyed contains graphic material, including explicit violence and gratuitous smut. 

It contains possibly triggering content, specifically violence and murder (he deserves it), allusion to more murder, and brief mentions of rape and assault.

Doe Eyed does not include any graphic on-page sexual violence, but it does include satisfying revenge. 

Please also be warned that our darling MMC is a vampire, and as such, blood-play/sharing is dabbled in.


Karlee brings it with this short story featuring Natalie and Marcos. Marcos is obsessed with Natalie and all he knows is that she belongs to him. Dark, seductive, and steamy. This story just makes me excited to read Karlee's next full-length book. 


My Legacy by Mandy Muse

This FFM story is just what I needed. I felt so connected to Leia, Alaric, and Blair. The intimate scenes they share are spicy but there is more to the story then just the spice. There was a really good storyline as well. I could have read this story as longer and still been happy. 

Hell Hath No Fury by LO Gold

This is a dark paranormal romance story featuring themes that some readers might find upsetting. Please read the content warnings below carefully prior to reading. Your mental health matters, take care of yourself and skip this story if you’re concerned it might leave you feeling triggered.

I felt for Darcella as she thought she had found the one that would take care of her. She was too sweet for the world she found herself in. Luckily, after the ordeal she went through, she meets Kaida. I wanted more of this story as I felt like it really changed and picked up after Darcella and Kaida met. 


The Red Queen by RE Johnson

I did not have a spicy retelling FF story on my BINGO card. I really liked this story of The Red Queen and Alice. It was only a matter of time before these two should have gotten together. Thank you RE for bringing them together. 

Don't count Alice out as a young woman who is weak. She is not and thanks to The Red Queen, she is a fighter. Although, you mess with her, and you will bring the wrath on you from The Red Queen. I will be checking out more books by this author.
