Book Review: Burn

They called me crazy.
A liar.
“They would never do something so awful,” they’d say.
Maybe I’m just a bitter bitch looking for revenge.
Revenge…
That’s exactly what I want.
I want to hear them beg. Cry. Plead.
Just like I did…
I want them to know what true helplessness feels like. I want them to pray to God for mercy. I want them to curse him when they never get it. They’re already dead; their bodies just don’t know it yet.
I used to be a good girl. The innocent one.
I kept to myself, but I was kind to everyone.
Don’t they want to see the monster they’ve created?
I am the Devil. This is my Hell.
They put these demons inside of me, and now they want to come out and play.
Are you ready to play, boys?
I am…

THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE WITH HEAVY TRIGGERS. READER'S DISCRETION IS HIGHLY ADVISED.

My Review

You know what I really like about Emily's writing, is that even her short stories pack quite the punch. You don't feel like you are missing anything.

Chelsea experienced a very traumatic ordeal that left her alone and seeking help. It is at residential facility that she meets Jaxon. They form a bond through their trauma. Chelsea and Jaxon made a nice couple.

The guys Walker, Thomas, and Jason got what they deserved. They are horrible and people like this go to h@ll. I am glad to see that Chelsea got her justice in the end. She took back the night and her life.
