Book Review: Ludovico's Vengeance

Fifteen years ago, I severed ties.

I walked away from the nightmare that was my family name.

I started over, built a life for myself. But when a woman I could never have needed me, I did the only thing I could. I embraced my name and the darkness that came with it.

Now I’m back, running the bloody business inherited through generations of Ludovico’s. Murdering, corruption… every day I’m back my soul becomes blacker with each sin.

Until her.

Nina belongs to me now, after being kept a prisoner in her father’s gilded cage. She’s beautiful, perfect, and too innocent for the terrors of my past. But that won’t stop me from making her mine in every way.

My Review
As soon as the story started and I read of the betrayal Giovanni's grandfather did to him, I felt for him. I felt an instant connection to Giovanni. Then when I met Nina and learned of her back story, that same instant connection was there as well.

It is always a good sign when I can connect to the characters fairly early in the story. Seeing Nina get to experience her new freedom and Giovanni helping to foster it so tenderly is endearing. I felt the chemistry build between them. So, when they shared that first kiss it was great. I loved Giovanni calling Nina "Short Stack". I laughed as my husband is 6"3 and I am 5"4.

Author, L. Clara wrote a lovely story with endearing characters with the right amount of touches of spice.
