Book Review: The Sinners Gambit

When you take a risk to gain the upper hand, you might end up losing it all.

Naomi is the best damn general surgeon New York City has ever seen. Killian is at the top of his field, heading his family business at a high-tech security company. They have no-fucks-given attitudes that keep them on their paths to ultimate success.

That is until a chance encounter leads Killian to develop an obsessive infatuation with Naomi that he just can’t shake. He wants a Queen to match his dark energy, and she’s the only person who fits the bill. Not one to ever do anything half-assed he steals her away to his castle—or in this case a giant secluded mansion. Little do they know, they’re both more than what meets the eye.

Secrets are revealed.

Lies unravel.

And emotions run rampant.

Can they learn to trust each other enough to find the love they never expected, or will the truth cost them everything?

Either way they’re both ready to let the games begin.

My Review

I liked this book, but I did find that I struggled to form a strong emotional connection to Naomi and Killian. In addition, that personally for me I found that I did not become engaged with the story until about a third of the way in.

I did think that Naomi and Killian shared some good spicy chemistry. Killian was the one that did feel it first with Naomi. She took longer but I can't blame her as she was taken by Killian and found herself in a forced proximity situation. The last third of the story is the strongest.
