Book Review: Rink Rash

She’s the roller derby captain and her newest rival is her very own teammate. There are only three things that get under Madeline Maddox’s defeat, disorder, and disruption, especially when it comes to her carefully curated life and her roller derby team. Because no one outskates Mad Maddox—that is, until a cocky little jammer blows back into her hometown wreaking havoc into all her plans.

Vera Havik is mayhem, she’s chaos, she’s everything Madeline despises.

Madeline is set on making their time on the track together a rink-rash-filled nightmare, pushing through Vera's defenses like a bad block. That’s when she learns the heavy secret the world-famous jammer is hiding. Everything’s off-track now, including their hearts.

The fine line between love and hatred can be crushed, snorted, or injected…

But it can’t be ignored.

Rink Rash is a Stand alone sapphic sports romance previously published under the title False A roller derby romance, character names, background and descriptions have since changed for a better reader experience.

My Review

I wanted to read this book because I was so obsessed with women's roller derby. It has been so long since I watched a match. I was definitely looking forward to the roller derby aspect, yet, what I was not expecting was how obsessed I would become with Havoc and Maddox.

"I'll show her that I can love her regardless."

I instantly felt an emotional connection towards Havoc. With the loss of important people in her life, she was dealing with a lot. I did not blame or carry judgement towards Havoc for her addiction. Everyone grieves and has their own way of escaping real life.

Maddox knows she does not want Havoc around. Plus, she comes and takes her spot. Yet, the more time they are around each other, she can't deny the attraction. Boy what an attraction it is. Um, I could not get enough of all of the spicy scenes.

Santana had my heart flipped upside down and all around with emotions. This book is one you absolutely must read.

"I could do it with her for the rest of my life."
