Book Review: Bread by the Grim

Grim is a loner, not because he wants to be, but because he has a secret. By day, he's a mild-mannered monster running a bakery-cafe in the small town of Ghostlight Falls, but after midnight he's something else... something that needs to be contained. When an accident forces him to hire a new morning baker, he has no idea he's hiring the woman of his dreams.

But containing the monster inside of him isn't easy now that it has started to take notice. The monster's desires can't be satisfied with normal human expressions of love... the monster needs to breed, and nothing will get in its way once it takes over.

Set in Ghostlight Falls, the coolest fictional small town in the Pacific Northwest, Bread by the Grim is a standalone cozy paranormal insta-love breeding romance with an awkward MMC who can't control what he does after midnight and FMC who is here for it. It is a novella with wholesome Hallmark movie vibes and a good amount of steam.

My Review

Grim needs a new baker.  His old one has retired but she suggests her cousin, Phillipa. Grim and Phil may share a tiny spark, but it grows quickly when Phil literally falls in Grim's arms.

"She smells like sugar cookies with extra vanilla"

Grim is afraid to hurt Phil as she is a human and he is a gremlin. Yet, Phil is not afraid of Grim and even helps him control his shifting.

"I care about you Grim. All of you. In all your forms."

Grim and Phil were all hot and heavy. All Grim wanted to do is bred Phil. It is always a steamy time when the act is being performed. Grim is my first gremlin monster that I have fallen for. I now need to go on the hunt for more gremlin romances. Dakota baked up a steamy read!
