Book Review: Owned by Beauty and the Beast
What if you could have both Beauty and her Beast?
Kayla has had enough. After yet another snide comment about her body from Gareth, her controlling boyfriend, she flees into the night, desperate to be anywhere else. When she stumbles onto a massive estate, Kayla meets the stunning and alluring Isabella, who is most eager to offer shelter, and perhaps more.
Within minutes, a roar echoes through the mansion. Isabella’s monstrous husband, Valerius, is most displeased to have a stranger invade their home. As a gigantic, fur-covered beast with massive fangs, Valerius should terrify Kayla, yet he makes her pulse race for a very different reason.
Will Kayla find more than just a temporary refuge in this mansion? Can Isabella convince Valerius to warm up to Kayla and perhaps even share her? What will Kayla do when Gareth threatens her father unless she returns?
Find out in Owned by Beauty and the Beast, a sweet and spicy FFM fairy tale retelling for lovers of hurt/comfort, grumpy/sunshine monster romance novella.
My Review
I applaud Kayla for getting away from her horrible boyfriend. It took a lot of courage. Ger boyfriend took away all of her confidence. She was like a wilting flower. With the help and love of Isabella and Valerius, Kayla bloomed into a beautiful rose.
Isabella's enthusiasm for having Kayla in their home was funny. She was like a puppy who had found its new favorite toy. I really appreciated that she understood not to push Kayla too much. Valerius is so grumpy. I am a sucker for a grumpy MMC. Once Kayla felt more comfortable and all three were together is when things really heated up.
I love this Beauty and the Beast retelling novella from Maya. If I were to ever have to find sanctuary, I hope it is in a place like Isabella and Valerius's. If you love Beauty and the Beast, you will love this book. Come get "owned" by Valerius, Isabella, and Kayla.
