Audiobook Review: Did They Break You
Remi Ocean is broken.
With her oversized hoodies, orange hair, and that "go fuck yourself" smile, it's obvious. And I know why.
It's my fault. It's our fault.
If I could stay away from her, I would.
I'd let that night go. Let her go. Let the charges and the dismissal and the justice she never got burn up into ash.
But I can't.
Someone needs me. And me? I need her.
But the good girl is starting to go bad.
I'm starting to lose my mind.
She's not mine anymore, and I can't let that happen.
Something bad happened to Remi.
And I'm the one who fucking did it.
My Review
I listened to the audiobook. If you are a fan of audiobooks, you will want to listen to this one. Narrators Lydia Edison and Matthew E. Berry are new to me. I enjoyed listening to them both voice Remi and Cortland.
Let me start by warning readers that the opening scene could be triggering for some. Remi endures a harsh situation. What makes it worse is that Cortland did nothing to stop it. This is why I did not like him for a very long time, despite him loving Remi. If he truly loved her, he would have not allowed the situation to happen.
By the end of the story, I will say that I had made peace with Cortland and did like him. Yet, the road to get to where Remi and Cortland have their HEA is a hard one that is filled with tons of emotions and trauma.

This is an extremely dark romance.
