Book Review: His Sweetest Temptation

Kirill "The Shark" Khitrenko is sent to retrieve a dead journalist’s evidence file that threatens to destroy his family. His target is the journalist’s daughter, Jordan Thorne, a struggling wellness influencer who hides from the world’s messy truths behind a wall of positive affirmations.

When his interrogation tactics fail, Kirill drags her into his violent world, only to discover her "energetic instincts" are a form of perception so sharp it could get them both killed—or save them.

Thrown together in a battle for survival against a rival family and a curious detective, they must trust each other enough to find the truth, forcing Jordan to embrace the chaotic power she’s always feared and Kirill to accept a partner in a life he’s always lived alone.

My Review

Jordan and Kirill find themselves in a danger situation. Jordan is thrust into Kirill's protection in the form of a forced proximity situation. Despite her situation, Jordan does show strength. She might not have in the beginning, but she did when she escaped, even if she did not get far and Kirill captured her again.

This is the second book I have read in this series. I do like the Bratva. Separately Jordan and Kirill are good, and they are even good together. Yet, I just never really connection to them as a couple as strongly as I wanted. It also took me a while to find my footing with the story and become engaged at the start of the story. While, this book may not have been a favorite of mine, I did like the other book I read in this series and would read the next book by this author.
