Book Review: Threads Of Madly Whispers
I found him yet he kept me
Raveled in a web of atrocities and anarchy, he became my solace.
I should have never wanted his attention, but something so ruinous about him whispered me aflame.
He serenaded to my soul while I twirled to the horrors that plagued him.
He is sin and nor is he a fairytale.
He plays, and he plays so gloriously.
He says I’m his muse, his nocturne, his fallen angel and that his touch shall reduce to ashes, anything that causes the rivers in my eyes and how hauntingly precious it shall be.
My Review
The way this book is presented is a poetry mixed with gothic. It also flows continuously from present to past. Odessa's past is not a happy one. It is filled with sorrow and pain. Luckily, for her, she has Sebastian as her guardian. He watches her and has become obsessed with her.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from this book:
"And I ponder, in the stillness, if I will ever know solace again."
"In the chaos we both embrace, there will only be those who dare to dance with destruction."
"My darling, my Odessa, you are the ache I cannot soothe, the storm I cannot escape. And the more I want, the more I need, the more I will do to possess."
"Death, perhaps, is beautiful in its simplicity."
"You're incandescently beautiful
You're painted poetry
You're mine."
"Death is not the villain we fear."
This book was giving me Phantom of the Opera vibes. I definitely was digging the gothic tone of this book. The more the story progressed, I became more drawn into the story. I felt for Odessa. Even before I knew his name, I already felt connected to Sebastian. Ooh the ending.
