Book Review: Sovereign Daughters
We are the sovereign daughters in a society built for men. We are taught to bow and obey, only useful for what our bodies can provide them. Our world is hell hiding amongst the free and no one knows the war that threatens to bring our society to its knees. Sometimes the best way through the battle is to work your way from the inside out. Obey the Sovereign; Command the weak, they say. Who’s the weak one now?
My Review
Warning as there the actions of the evil council men towards the women are horrible and not consenting in nature.
The scenes are graphic but not too long. They are important though to the storyline. Don't worry as each woman gets their HEA.
This book is broken into four parts. Each part focusing on a different woman however, each part is interconnected to the overall plot and each part progresses the story. In the first part we are introduced to Scarlett. This is her first year attending "The Cottages".
I felt for Scarlett but luckily, she had a guardian watching and ready to protect her. His name is Sawyer. I thought it was enough just Scarlett and Sawyer but then you add in Porter and the spice level rises. Next, we have Lyric's story. She is another one that is luckily to get two men, Barrett and Cain. Love the sassiness that Lyric brought.
Then we have Ophelia and her men, Holden and Bram. This one was a bit darker. Yet, I loved seeing Ophelia get her redemption story. Lastly, there is Bria and her man, Torin. I would have loved to seen Bria's story a bit longer. It was the shortest. As soon as I met her in part one, I was drawn to her and so this is why I would have liked her story longer. Yet, I still enjoyed it.
Overall, this is a really good book. It surprised me in a really good way.
