Book Review: Moon Bite
Opposites attract in this small town omegaverse monster romance when Morgan Foxglove discovers the grumpy werewolf contracted to be her bodyguard is also her fated mate.
The family curse was supposed to just be a story. But after returning to her quaint home town for her grandmother’s funeral, Morgan discovers that not only is the curse real—her inheritance has been signed over to an alphahole werewolf in exchange for his protection.
Sylvan is bound to be Morgan’s bodyguard by a contract no amount of magic can unravel. It’s too bad he cannot stand the helpless witch. Her spells are useless. She whines about the fur he leaves around the house every time he shifts. She’s constantly running into things and injuring herself. The little witch is bound to drive him wild.
But now, Morgan and Sylvan have no choice but to spend nine months in the same gothic manor together to complete the terms of the deal. Nine months of protection, nine months of being knotted together by fate. To make matters worse, the longer they live together, they discover a problem more concerning than the danger lurking around town or their ridiculous arrangement.
The grumpy werewolf and wicked witch just might love each other.
My Review
First off, I am a fan of the author's. I love the author's Citrus Cove series. I do like this book as I am a fan of omegaverse stories and really like that it featured a witch and werewolf. The world building that the author created for this book is good.
Sylvan and Morgan do share a strong and steamy connection. I would not complain if Sylvan was my bodyguard. I love all the spice. Yet, despite this factor, I found myself struggling to connection with both Morgan and Sylvan. Thus, I kind of felt like I was a outsider looking in vs. being embodied by the story and the fated mate connection that Sylvan and Morgan shared.
While, I might not have been fated to this book, I still am a fan of Clio. She can write.
