Audiobook Review: Come meet Harry
The pond is drying up!
Strange things are happening in Pondville and the surrounding towns. Youngsters are missing, residents are afraid, and the pond is losing water. Sheriff Harry and the deputy sheriffs are pulling together to solve the mysteries. Meanwhile, Professor Ludwig is busy developing new gadgets to help with the investigation, and the eagle squadrons are called in to assist in searching for the kidnappers…while spies are watching and plotting to take Ludwig hostage.
Danger, thrills, and ingenious gadgets are at play. Will good triumph over evil? How will Harry deal with the nasty, wily criminals—if he finds them?
My Review
What a fun and wacky adventure that Harry and the crew encounter in this book. Narrator, Steven Gillen does a really good job of voicing all of the various characters. I could not get enough of Harry's voice. It really stood out as it was different. It kind of had a nasally sound to it that I actually liked. It made me chuckle every time I heard Steven use this voice.
Everyone banded together to help save Pondville. I thought Sheriff Harry did a very good job of keeping everything organized and calming the townsfolks fears. Professor Ludwig is eccentric and the gadgets he comes up with are crazy but in a good way.
This book is one that young readers will enjoy but they will have more fun listening to the audiobook.
Pondville’s animal friends are preparing for Derby Day. The diverse sportsmen are getting their go-carts ready to compete in the race. Wolf and Skunk have daring tricks up their sleeves. Will good deeds triumph over bad? Who wins the trophy? Action and adventure, await in this illustrated children’s chapter book filled with humor and excitement!
My Review
Haha. This is a fun introduction to Harry and the rest of the Pondville residents. Quite a cast of characters. If Pondville was a real place, it would be worth the trip to visit. Although, you will have to be on your guard around Wolf and Shunk as they cause havoc.
I had a fun time listening to Steven Gillen narrate the audio version of this book. He did a very good job of voicing all of the different characters. Their personalities did come through with just Steven narrating. I will be continuing this series. Fun for all ages.
