Book Review: Coming Home

Lucy Ramirez never expected to return to the small town of Whispering Springs, but after a tragic hit-and-run takes her husband and leaves her children without a father, it’s the only place that feels like home. Moving back in with her beloved Gran, Lucy quickly realizes how much she’s missed the warmth of her family. Her brothers' constant teasing and support remind her of a love she thought she’d lost. That was until an unexpected encounter turns everything upside down.

Garrett Williams, the town’s devastatingly handsome sheriff and Lucy’s childhood best friend, has always been trouble with a capital T. The kind of trouble that makes her heart race and memories flood back of a time before grief took over her life. When a near miss with Garrett’s patrol car forces them back into each other’s orbit, Lucy finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about love, loss, and second chances.

But life has changed. Now, she’s not just considering her own feelings. She now has three children to think about, and Garrett’s untamed heart might just be too much of a risk. Will Lucy take a leap of faith with the man she once loved, or will the past hold her back from a future filled with the family, love, and happiness she never thought she could have again?

"Coming Home” is a heartwarming tale of love rediscovered, family bonds, and the courage it takes to start over. Perfect for fans of small-town romance with big-hearted heroes and heroines who find healing in the most unexpected places.

My Review

You know the book is going to be an absolute winner, when as soon as I started reading, I literally had to make myself stop. This is only because I had to do a thing called "work". Yet, as soon as my workday was over, I jumped right back into this book and did not stop reading until I finished it.

While I love all of Lucy's children, it is Kaley that I love the most. She has Garrett on her radar, and she won't let him off the hook so easily. The death glares that she gave Garrett at the dinner table had me laughing. Then there is Gran and her "heavy" hand pour with the liquor for Irish coffee.

Love Garrett calling Lucy "Daze". The way that he was respectful to Lucy's deceased husband's memories was nice. It was great to see everyone be so accepting of Lucy and Garrett's relationship. All of Lucy's brothers are a hoot. Reading this book is like receiving a hug from a loved one! I will definitely be checking out more books by Jessica.

Looks like a good romance and family drama. I love books that make you want to read them all the way through in one day.
