Book Review: Fenrik's Fate

After fleeing from her ex, with a suitcase and $52 to her name, Tracy is trying to rebuild her life in sunny San Diego. She got a job as a host and slowly started making friends, healing and learning to trust again. The unthinkable happens on the night all the girls convince her to go out on the town. The lights go out in the club and Tracy is in the bathroom's darkness.

Fenrik is on the run from his tribe for refusing to take the jarl’s daughter as his mate. He doesn’t know what the punishment for this disrespect will be, but he doubts he’ll make it out alive. He manages to make it to an out-of-the-way hunting cabin to shelter for the night, only to find Tracy, crumpled at the doorstep. Both of them are lost in the mountains of Snaerfire and are going to have to rely on each other to find their way.

My Review
The fact that both Fenrik and Tracy were running away to better themselves did bring me closer to them as I grew an emotional attachment to them both. The language barrier between Tracy and Fenrik was entertaining. It is in these situations that sometimes actions are easier than words.

The steam between Tracy and Fenrik was slow. Partly due to the language barrier and a big part due to Tracy's past relationship. It was not a good one and it really affected her. Fenrik understood Tracy's hesitates to moving too quickly and was kind about it. There are times through that I will admit that Tracy got on my nerves. When she learned that Fenrik was a nice guy and treated her kindly, instead of trusting him, she retreated back into herself a lot. I understand this a few times, but it did happen a lot.

I enjoyed this book. There were both funny and sweet moments to be found throughout this book. The spice is just right. Readers will fall in love with Fenrik and if you are not an Orc fan or this is your first time reading an Orc story, you will soon become a fan of Orcs.
