Audiobook Review: Here with You
They call him The Mad One.
A cocky hotshot on the racetrack.
While I’m not a fan, we do agree on one thing:
Maddox Hartley doesn’t want me in his life.
Shadowing a recently retired racing champion for six weeks is a far cry from investigative journalism.
But when your editor benches you, you make the consolation assignment count.
Because my job isn’t just a paycheck, it’s justice for my brother.
I’ll play along. I just didn’t count on him being so hard to resist.
And the more time I spend in his orbit, the harder it is to remember why I can’t let myself want him.
A reporter falling for her subject only ends one way—in ruins.
I know better.
Once my article runs, I’ll leave Winslow Grove behind.
What I don’t’ realize yet is, the story was never on the line, it's always been my heart…

Grace and Maddox actually have more in common than they realize. They would if Maddox was not trying to avoid Grace. Yet, I understood where Maddox was coming from and why he was dodging Grace. He had people to protect, and he did not know who to trust. This applies to Grace as well. She has fought hard to see justice for her brother's killer, and she is not about to let her chance slide.
First off, may I make a recommendation. Listen to the ALC version of this book. It is narrated by Brooke Bloomingdale and Aaron Shedlock. These two are amazing. This book is an emotional, heart aching story and you really embrace the emotions by listening to the audiobook.
