Book Review: Caught in the Woods

Swept away by a torrent and into a monster’s embrace

An overworked healer decides to get away from it all by taking a weekend-long hike in a nearby forest. Greta’s peaceful afternoon in the woods turns deadly when she’s caught in a freak rainstorm that soon becomes a flash flood. Her situation only gets more dire when she’s snatched up by something with wings and a strong, scaly tail.

As she stares into the strange reptilian eyes, the ravenous creature seems just as likely to try to devour her as save her—but maybe that’s just what she needs.

Unfortunately, he’s also the single most overbearing person she’s ever met. Still, there’s something wounded about him that the medic in her can’t help but want to heal.

Caught in the Woods is a story in the Scorching in Sin City monster romance world which follows the intimate lives of the paranormal denizens of Las Vegas. If you enjoy spicy, fast burns, sassy heroines finding their power, and characters you love to crush on, this book is for you.

My Review

I love the Scorching in Sin City trilogy. This novella set in this world is really fun. There are so many side characters from the trilogy that I liked that I am excited to get to know better. This is why I was excited to read this novella.

Greta is one character that when I met her in the Scorching in Sin City world that I instantly liked. If you love a grumpy hero, then you will love Ixoril. I laughed at how rude he came off in the beginning. Yet, when you learn his story, it is understandable as to why he is so grumpy.

I love monster romances, especially ones that involve a tail. The things that Ixoril did with his tail! Greta is his fated mate. Love these two together. Grab this steamy, grumpy/sunshine novella!
