Book Review: Court of Heathens

There are many things that go bump in the night, and I am one of them.

Witches are supposed to be good, powerful, and omniscient, but unluckily for me, I seem to lack all of those qualities.

I have been battling the darkness that lives within me since birth, destined to eradicate goodness from our world, but one day, I have no choice but to embrace who and what I am.

In order to stop the destruction of the world as we know it, I must put my trust in not only myself, but also my unlikely companions.

When all is said and done, and all that is left is dust, can I go back to how I was, or will I be lost in the shadows forever?

Welcome to the Court of Heathens, where darkness conquers all.

My Review

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Everything from the SPICE to the witty BANTER. This book did hit that monster romance spot that I have. I found that this was a quick read for me.

Freya may not be very good at using her magic as she did conjure up quite a few "oops" monsters but it was not all bad. If she had not been bad at it, we would not have Phrixius, and Sha. These two brought an extra energy vibe to the already hot relationship between Freya and Demon.

This is when you know you are in for a fun read when you are not too far into the book and this conversation happens:

When Freya summoned Phrixius and she and the Demon were arguing about it was funny. They were arguing like two children. It went kind of like this:

Demon "You summoned a God"

Freya "I did what", "No, I didn't"

Demon "Did"

Freya "Didn't"

Demon "Did"

Freya "No, you"

Demon "You did it!"
