Rebel is the cat's meow! Chatting with author, Cheryl Brooks + Giveaway
My Review
It has been a little while since I have read a book in this series. When I saw this book, I thought it was time to jump back into this series. I am so sorry it took me so long to do so. I love these books. The men are sexy as sin and the women are strong, independent women. Together they make a good couples together. Just like Onca and Kim. They are one of my top favorite couples in this series. Who knew that a "hooker" like Onca had a heart of gold. Kim, she was a feisty one. This is why I liked her. She may be small but good things do come in small packages. The storyline for this book was gritty but it did have a happy ending. It was great to see Jack again. She brings the party everywhere she goes. Plus, she always has something witty to say. Rebel is the cat's meow! It is sexy and out of this world a delicious read!

Hello, everyone, and thanks so much for having me as a guest here on Cheryl’s Book Nook!
What is it like writing erotic romance, paranormal, short stories, and nonfiction in regards to differences?
Believe it or not, short stories are the hardest to write because there isn’t time to ramble on about the setting or the characters. Descriptions must be vivid and succinct. Personalities have to be established quickly, and the story can’t take place over a long period of time. Keeping all of that in mind, the ending must be satisfying to the reader and not leave them hanging.
Paranormal is the most fun because I can create new worlds, complete with bizarre plant and animal life, unique cultures, and unique intelligent life forms.
Erotic romance is what made me start writing to begin with. I wanted details, and the books I was reading didn’t have any at all. I don’t like it when the passion and excitement are bogged down with vague euphemisms or hidden behind closed doors. I want a good story to go along with the heat, though. If there’s nothing to a book but sex, I lose interest pretty quickly.
I haven’t written much in the way of nonfiction, unless you count blogs about personal experiences. I don’t mind writing those sorts of things, but I can’t see myself ever writing a history book, for example.
What is your favorite type to write about?
Paranormal is probably my favorite because it allows me to stretch my imagination to the limit, and since most of it comes straight out of my head, very little research is necessary. I do my best to follow the rules of science and physics, but some suspension of disbelief is required where interstellar travel is concerned. I as the author and you as the reader must accept that a means of rapid transit between star systems is already in place, otherwise, there’s no story!
Do you have a favorite book in your Cat Star Chronicles series? If so, who and why?
I nearly always say the current release is my favorite, mainly because it’s the one I’ve been working on for the past year or more. But it’s especially true with Rebel. I adore Onca, and I sincerely believe this is the best book I’ve ever written.
How many more books do you have planned in this series?
As of this moment, there are no plans for any more books in the Cat Star Chronicles series. I do intend to write a spinoff series about the Avian clones at some point. The first book will be about Val, whom readers will meet in Rebel.
If you were stranded and could only save three books what three would they be and why?
If I couldn’t have any of those that I’ve written myself, I would say Mary Stewart’s Merlin trilogy. I never tire of reading them, and there are several passages that always give me goose bumps!
Can you tell readers a little bit about your contemporary erotic cowboy series and what it will be about?
The series is called Cowboy Heaven, and consists of two full-length novels and one related novella. The main theme of the series that my heroines each become sexually involved with one man before ultimately falling in love with another.
The novella, which I’m calling Crazy From the Heat is slated to release in January 2015.
Stranded on a Texas highway while traveling to meet her fiancé’s parents, a beautiful pharmaceutical sales rep accepts a ride from a handsome widower. When sexual attraction ignites and stormy weather forces them to spend the night at his ranch, she becomes convinced she is engaged to the wrong man.
The first novel, which I believe is being called Cowboy Heaven, is due in March 2015.
A lonely widow hires a handsome young cowboy to help out on her Wyoming ranch. When she takes him to her bed, the series of accidents that began with the death of her husband escalates, nearly costing the life of the man who has secretly loved her for many years.
Those two are already written. I’m still working on the second book, which I’m calling Must Love Cowboys. I don’t have a release date yet, but it should be out in late 2015 or early 2016.
An extremely shy computer specialist on a road trip to scatter her grandfather’s ashes in the
Tetons ends up as the cook on a Wyoming ranch. Just as her shyness begins to abate, a mystery surfaces, forcing her to work closely with the one cowboy who rattles her the most.
Keep in mind that covers, titles, and release dates are all subject to change right up until a book goes to print. I never believe anything is for real until I’m holding the final copy in my hand, and I’ve finally got Rebel!
I have 1 copy to giveaway US and Canada only. Leave a comment with email. If you have read this series, which is your favorite book in this series? Winner chosen July 11th

you set up the world. GREAT premise - woman buys male slave to go to a planet and rescue her sister. STALK #5
Many of my readers still say Slave is their favorite, and I'm guessing it's the introduction to the world that resonates with people. For example, although the rest of the books in the series are great, that first Harry Potter book is the one that still makes me smile the most, and after all the incarnations of Spiderman, the first Tobey Maguire movie is still my favorite. Good luck in the giveaway!
