They Almost Always Come Home

Libby Holden never imagined that when her husband, Greg left for his fishing trip in Canada that it would be the last time she would see him again. Greg was supposed to be home in time to go to church. Instead Libby receives a phone call from the Canadian Mounties. They suggested that it is possible that her husband just walked out on her. Libby doesn’t believe it at first. Though, when she starts reading his journal, Libby realizes that there are things about Greg that she never knew.

Libby decides to retrace Greg’s steps to figure out what happened to him. She will be joined by Greg’s father, Frank and her good friend, Jenika. How will Libby handle the truth?

This book really took me by surprise in a good way. I didn’t know what to expect from it. I sat down to start reading it and couldn’t tear my eyes away. It was like I was instantly transported into the book with Libby. I could feel everything that she was experiencing. My only issue I had was at the beginning. When the storyline would switch from the past to the present, it wasn’t as smooth as I would have liked. In fact I had to re-read a few times just to figure out what was going on. I would be like, what just happened and then I would realize the story had switched back to the past. Overall though, They Almost Always Come Home will always have a home on my bookshelves. I can’t wait to see what author; Cynthia Ruchti has in store next.
