Book Review: Woman Missing
Two strangers. One island. What could possibly connect them?
Susan Keller is a devoted wife and mother whose children have left home for college. On a weekend island getaway with friends, she begins to wonder what life might look like if she were free to start again.
Ethan Morro works two exhausting jobs to support his wife and young children. Every day he watches wealthy tourists live the life he feels was meant for him.
When tragedy strikes the island, investigators begin searching for answers.
But what could possibly connect these two strangers?
And what secrets were they both carrying that led them there?
A chilling psychological suspense about desire, resentment, and the dangerous secrets people carry beneath ordinary lives.
My Review
This is more than just a psychological thriller; there is depth to the story as well. In fact, while what happened to Susan is horrible, the person responsible, I felt some symphony towards as well. I could see how everything leading up to the events transpired. Resentment is a very powerful emotion.
Susan and Ethan may seem like they come from different lifestyles, but when you break it down, they both have something in common. They both are miserable with their current living situations. This is why Susan is out on a Girl's Trip. Ethan on the other hand is working numerous jobs, long hours, and it seems that he can never get ahead.
The story slowly builds up. After about a third of the way into the story, is when the speed picks up and stays up high. If you like thrillers, you will want to pick up a copy of this book. A fast read.
