Audiobook Review: My Fight Song

Hockey is their game. Love is the rematch.

Kaylee Jenkins thought she left the ice—and her heartbreak—behind in Minnesota. But transferring to Thatcher College means more than just a fresh start. It means crossing paths again with Tanner Bouché, the boy she didn’t pick years ago at hockey camp. Now he’s the Thunderblades’ captain, and totally not ready for the scathing editorial she’s about to drop in the campus paper about his team.

But Tanner isn’t the cocky jock she remembers. Beneath the swagger is a leader carrying the weight of a championship team, and a guy who’s never stopped wanting the girl who got away. When fate throws them back together—Kaylee as the team’s manager, Tanner as her impossible-to-ignore captain—sparks ignite on and off the ice making second chances seem possible.

And when her reputation is put on the line by the ex she once trusted, Tanner is ready to drop the gloves for her honor. But winning each other’s trust might be the biggest victory of all.

My Review

You have heard of the term "He Fell Hard and Fast", well this was me. I absolutely fell hard, fast, and deeply in love with this book. The great depth of range that Tara wrote for Kaylee and Tanner was really felt from the way they communicated to each other to the slow burn romance. Although, you know how to truly experience these emotions by listening to the audiobook. Narrators, Stephanie Rose and Logan Anare are amazing. They are both new to me narrators but after listening to this audiobook, I will be checking out more ALCs narrated by Stephanie and Logan.

Perception and miscommunication are two things that can really mess up a situation. Another is having a douche for an ex-boyfriend. Kaylee experiences this with her ex. With the help, love, and support of Tanner, she learns and discovers that she can take back her life and rise like a phoenix. This book is a beautiful, must read!
