Audiobook Review: Forged in the Fire

It was a terrible idea to agree to protect my enemy’s sister…
Don’t miss the new, dark romance from NYT bestselling author A.L. Jackson.

The second she stepped out of her brother’s car, I knew she was a wildfire. Spitting mad and so stunning she stole my breath. She thinks her brother made a deal with the devil, and by working for me, she’s paying off his debt.

She doesn’t know the real reason she’s here. Doesn’t know the danger that surrounds her. Soon, she realizes there is something sinister lurking in the shadows.

She hates me for keeping her in the dark. I want to hate her back, but with every sassy thing that leaves her mouth, she gets deeper under my skin. With each heated glance, I feel myself losing control. And when we finally end up in the same bed…I combust.

I know better than thinking I can keep her. My life is nothing but secrets and violence. But as outside threats begin to infiltrate, I’ll do anything to honor the oath I made to keep her safe. Even expose her to the monster that I am…

My Review

OMG. I absolutely and utterly LOVED this book! It is still staying with me, even after I have finished reading or more accurately, I should say listened. Yes, that is right I listened to the ALC version of this book. If you love audiobooks like I do, then, go for the ALC. It is narrated by Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum. These two are amazing.

Brinley and Silas definitely brought the enemies to lovers' vibe. Yet, there is another trope that this book features that I love and that is forced proximity. Brinley has a bratty, spunky side to her. That is probably why Silas called her "Wildfire". There is more than meets the eye when it comes to Silas. The more I got to become familiar with him, the more I loved him. Brinley and Silas are so good together.

This book is easily a top favorite read of mine. Five stars all the way!
