Book Review: Losers Duet
A former prom queen bully returns to her hometown only to become entangled in a steamy game of revenge and redemption with the four boys–now dangerously attractive men–she used to torment in the first of Harley Laroux’s infamously dark, sexy, queer, why-choose duology – perfect for readers of Sadie Kincaid, LJ Shen, and Eva Ashwood.
NOW A DELUXE LIMITED EDITION paperback with foiled cover, stenciled edges, and two-sided tip-in fan art!
I was supposed to have it all.
I’d been Prom Queen, Cheer Captain - high school’s most savage Queen Bee. I could have everything I wanted.
Except them. The freaks, the weirdos, the school’s ultimate losers: Manson, Jason, Lucas, and Vincent. Our hatred for each other couldn’t keep us apart, not even when my own mistake got Manson expelled and made me the ultimate villain to the rest of them.
One night was supposed to be enough.
I couldn’t resist forever. For one night I gave myself over to the men I wasn’t supposed to want and satisfied the darkest parts of my soul. But some things are meant to stay in the dark. One night, and it was over.
Nothing more than a game.
Now, with college behind me, our worlds collide yet again. Four men, all willing to share me as their plaything until my debt to them is paid. Another game to satiate my dark cravings, the twisted rules of which bring us all even closer than before. But games aren’t meant to last.
When the debt is paid and the game is done, what if I don’t want to walk away?
My Review
Someone order four sexy men...yes, please! I did not know I needed Manson, Lucas, Vincent & Jason in my life until I met them. The scene when Jessica and the guys were younger and Manson took Jessica's gum and chewed it, that was hot.
Yes. This is my first thought after reading this book. Actually, my more appropriate thought is "Holy Smokes!". Obsession. Would be the best word to describe my feelings about this book.
There is bully, angst, hate to lover, sassiness, and spice. Here for it all. Just as I was really, really getting into the story, it ends on a cliffhanger. Running to read book two.
Every action has consequences.
I made one foolish mistake and ended up with a debt I had only one way to pay...by bowing my head and submitting to the men I swore I hated. But in their dominance I found catharsis. In the darkness we share, parts of myself were brought to the light.
I've been wearing a mask for far too long.
Now I'm torn between the future I thought I wanted, and a life I once believed was only fantasy.
These feelings between us were never just a game.
What am I willing to sacrifice? My pride and carefully laid plans, my determination that I can do it all alone? Or my new-found freedom to live without boundaries with the men who turned my world on its head? How much am I willing to give up?
Who am I willing to lose?
My Review
This part two of this duet is amazing. In fact, things got hotter and more intense with this book. It was like this book was on steroids! Haha.
I devoured this book so fast. The guys became more obsessed with Jessica. In part one I had slight favorites with Manson and Vincent but with part two, there was no top favorite. I loved all four guys. Jessica became feisty too in this book. The guys brought it out in her.
The spice was brought. Don't let the title of this duet fool you as there are no "losers" here, just winners!
This is an 18+ polyamorous bisexual romance between one woman and four men, including MF, MM, and group scenes. Reader discretion is strongly advised, this is a dark read. This book contains graphic sexual scenes, intense scenes of BDSM, graphic violence, and strong language. A full content note can be found in the front matter of the book.
