Book Reviews: Goat Girl & Poison Princess

He said he’d never met a Mashie until he fell for me.

Superheroes are real. Unfortunately, so are Supervillains, and one turned me into a goat girl.

Since The Big Mash-Up things have been pretty tough for us Mashies—those who got stuck being half animal. I lost my home and my dreams. Now I’m working for minimum wage, dealing with a public that sometimes wishes I didn’t exist.

And then he walks into my life.
The sexiest man who’s ever ordered a drink from me.
Liam Jemison.

An entomologist working to help solve lingering issues from The Mash-Up, and the owner of the most adorable wind blown cheeks in Capital City, Liam is the right guy to make my tail wag. He tells me I’m the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. His kisses make me feel like I’m on fire and every touch has me aching for more. He says he wants me and likes everything about me. It feels real but can I risk trust in a world like this?

Can I believe in Heroes when the world treats me like a Villain?

Goat Girl is meant to be enjoyed by adult readers. Though it’s part of a series, it can be read alone perfectly well. For content concerns please see the author's website.

My Review

Jill makes a cute goat. I laughed when her co-worker had to tell her to quit eating the flower arrangement. I would like to say this is the only time that Jill has done this, but it is a weekly occurrence.

Liam definitely gave me golden retriever vibes. He is a sweetie. It is a good thing that Jill was not turned off by his lack of flirty. He is awkward but that it what made him endearing. When Liam said the "f" word, I gasped as it is not like him. I swooned when Liam said, "I just...I love you. That's all."

I really enjoyed this book. Already I am in love with the "Mashies". I got like comic book vibes with the "Normies" and the "Mashies". I would not mind being turned into a mashie. Honestly never thought about a goat but after seeing Jill, I would not be mad if I was mashed with a goat.

This is a fun book and a good start to this series. I look forward to reading the next book.

He's the only one immune to her deadly touch.

A decade after The Big Mash-Up, Capital City is safer than ever. The villain rehabilitation program is a success!

...So they say.

Recently released from Gnistra Lake Penitentiary, Tabitha Lima—AKA Poison Princess—knows intimately all the flaws Capital City tries to hide. Their government made her who she is, after all.

Gave her poison skin. Made her untouchable. Turned her into a monster.

As an opossum Mashie with a Heroes and Villains kink, Henry can’t believe his luck when he meets *the* Poison Princess—no, Tabitha. She’s the tall, curvy, powerful woman of his dreams.

When they find out he’s the only person immune to her poison touch, he’s determined to find the key to her heart.

But her trust is locked up tight, even if she’s not currently behind bars.

Poison Princess is an adult Superhero Romance with an unrepentant Villain as the lead. There is a summary of the first book in the series at the start of Poison Princess which makes this a standalone story; however, as with all series, it's best if you read Goat Girl as well. The content notes are in the front of the book if you need them and the author is always willing to answer additional questions.

My Review

Darkiss caused the Great Mash-up. No one knows what happened to him, but his henchmen were rounded up and sent to prison. One of them has been released. Her name is Tabitha aka Poison Princess.

Tabitha and her new coworker, Henry hit it off right away. Henry got mashed with an opossum. Don't call Tabitha "Princess". Not unless you want her to throat punch you. Henry learned this the hard way. With some help from his brother, Tabitha forgave Henry.

I laughed when after Henry and Tabitha shared an intimate moment commented with the following:

Henry "That was highly enjoyable"

Tabitha "I would like more in the future, yes"

Ok, if you had told me that opossums could be desirable, I would have said you were full of it. I am changed after reading this book. Call it a tail thing. Henry and Tabitha were all over each other. Going at it like animals (pun intended). I love this universe of characters that Sylvia has created. I am Team Mashies!
