Boo Review: Pucking Tempest
He was supposed to be an anonymous one-night stand. Not my brother's new teammate.
I’ve spent seven months trying to forget him after the best night of my life. Now I work for Leif’s team and live next door to him.
My brother—his teammate—can’t stand him. And it’s an unspoken rule that teammates’ sisters are off-limits.
I still want Leif. Badly. But we can’t be more than friends.
Yet the more time we spend together, the harder it is to remember why I’m resisting him.
He’s not willing to keep his distance. I keep pushing my own boundaries. And the man kisses like a god.
I know what we have is special. Worth fighting for.
Worth the possibility of blowing up the team's chemistry. Worth facing down my overprotective brother.
Worth risking everything for a shot at winning everything.
What happens when the person you can't have becomes the one you can't live without?
When Leif and Charlie surrender to their insatiable desire, secret dates become stolen kisses, and passion blooms into complicated feelings. Some relationships are worth breaking all the rules.
Pucking Tempest follows the events of the series prequel novella Puck Me Tonight. You do not have to read the prequel to understand this book, but you’re missing out on super-spicy fun. This steamy hockey romance kicks off a brand-new series perfect for fans of Ainsley Booth and Chelsea Curto. One-click to get this delicious romance now.
Tropes: One-night stand, second chance romance, banter, forbidden romance, cinnamon roll, found family, forced proximity, bisexual rep, chronic illness rep, spicy hockey romance, brother’s teammate, he falls first, workplace romance, secret relationship, regrettable tattoos.
My Review
Charlie and Leif shared one steamy night together. Charlie and Leif thought that was the end and they would never see each other again. In fact, Leif did not even know Charlie's name, so you can imagine his surprise when he saw her again. All he knew her by was the nickname he called her "Tempest". I love Leif's nickname for Charlie of "Tempest".
Leif and Charlie tried their best to avoid each other and not give into the attraction they felt for one another. A big reason is that Leif plays on the same team as Charlie's brother. Yet the more time they are around each other the feelings grow stronger. Um, yes please! The heat. Let me say that again the HEAT!!
I am a sucker for group chats in books. They are hilarious and what I feel a gold mine. They show all of the personalities of the characters. This book features two chats...the women's and the guy's. They are as follows:
The Pepper Kopp Clique (Women's)
Pepper, Dana, Emma, Charlie, Benny, Wendy, Anni, and Jeanette
Captain's Log (Men's)
Captain Monk, Mullet, Peaches, Treezy, Romeo, and Shawzy
The men's chat features a lot of the guy's nicknames of course. I loved everything about this book. None of the other characters felt like side pieces. I love my romances hot and Leif and Charlie gave me all the hotness. So much that they could melt the ice rink. This book scores a goal!
