Book Review: Resisting the Alien Rider
A surly alien rider, a mail-order bride meant for someone else, and the family that was never supposed to form…
All I want is to fall in love and get married. But my romantic hopes are dashed when I find out my alien groom, Oaken, is too injured to come meet me. The only way I can get to him in the mountains is if somebody else takes me.
Enter Garrek. The biggest, grumpiest alien rider on the planet. He doesn’t seem to like me much and he’s got a lot on his plate caring for his convict-ward, a young boy named Killian. But he grudgingly agrees to let me tag along as they travel towards the mountains with their herd.
The journey is dangerous and my guide is surly. But the longer I spend with Garrek, the more I uncover the rough tenderness that looms just beneath his hard exterior. He’s ferociously protective of Killian…
My Review
I started and finished this book all in one day. It is so good. I could not get enough of Magnolia and Garrek. He is so grumpy. Yet, the grumpier that he got, the more I loved him. Magnolia's bubbly personality is the complete opposite of Garrek. Yet, if you asked Magnolia to describe Garrek, she would say he is a marshmallow that was dropped in the fire and got the burned crispy outside but is gooey in the inside.
I liked Killian a lot. He is a fun addition to this story. The innocence he had. He is like a puppy that just wants to be cared for and loved.
This is a must-read series. You will fall in love with these aliens and their women. The language barrier between the men and the women are hilarious. Yet, the guys really need to ditch the book about women. It is not helping them. However, it does make for some pretty funny conversations about the female anatomy.
