Two starred reviews!
In this “goofy…energetic” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) slime-filled superhero spoof, four roommates with very different powers must stop the evil Dr. Slimepeople from turning the city’s lake into goo!
Abby Astro, Blix Blaster, Captain Kooky Pants, and Wanda Weather don’t always see eye to eye—in fact, they rarely do. But when slime starts rising and the city is in danger, these unlikely heroes must put aside their squabbles and learn to work as a team to save the day.
Each Star Chapter Book is 112 pages long, divided into six to eight short chapters with illustrated panels on every page to keep kids engaged from start to finish. This highly visual early chapter book format supports the transition from leveled readers to chapter books, making Star Chapter Books a perfect fit for independent reading, classroom libraries, or shared story time.

My Review
I liked this book. After reading this book, I would read another Super Roomies book. This book reminds me of the current cartoon shows that my niece watches of superheroes.
Abby Astro, Blix Blaster, Captain Kooky Pants, and Wanda Weather are all superheroes. They are called upon to stop Dr. Slimepeople from his evil plan to turn the city lake into a lake of slime. Yet for Blix the morning did not start out right. An incident happened and it has all his focus. This spills out when the group confronts Dr. Slimepeople.
I was on Blix's side in the beginning about the argument. However, as the day transpired and Blix kept mentioning the incident, I agreed with the rest of the roomies on how they responded. A fun read for sure.
