Book Review: Hunted for Christmas

Neil MacDonald
A former investment banker at one of the top firms in Philadelphia, Neil needed a chance of career and a change of pace before yet another stress-induced heart attack. Liquidating his assets gave him more than enough money to buy a farm. With the help of Bobby, his goofy sidekick, a Golden Retriever named after his all-time favorite Philadelphia Flyer Bobby Clarke, Neil’s life is finally calm. Lonely, sure, but calm nonetheless. Until a beautiful raven-haired tornado turned his life upside down.

Roxy Carmichael
The music business was good to Roxy. Great, in fact! A pioneer during a time when the heavy metal genre was dominated by men, Roxy broke glass ceilings, sales records, and more than her share of hearts along the way. Eventually, the limelight didn’t have the same thrill, and she knew it was time to hang up her microphone. Leaving LA in her rear view, she jumped in her truck and drove to Texas to find the one thing she’s been missing all these years.

My Review

Roxy and Neil both are a little broken. This does not mean through that there is anything wrong with them. Just that their hearts are more guarded. This is why it was lovely to see Neil and Roxy's relationship slowly bloom into something meaningful.

While Roxy did show strength in adversary, it was nice at the same time that she showed weakness as well. It made her more relatable. I felt for Neil as well and what his past relationship was like. Luckily the second time around was sweeter. Love Neil's dog, Bobby. Neil's brothers are a hoot.

I liked this book. It was a mixture of suspense and romance. Two of my favorite genre combo. This book also made me laugh.
