Book Review: Home for Christmas
Leaving Chicago was the best thing I could've done. We left the drama and chaos behind. It’s finally finished, and I’m starting over with my son, Oliver, in Piper Falls, Texas. A small, quiet, quaint town. It’s everything we need.
People are nice, but I’ve learned to trust no one and nothing. I could be hurt by giving people too much of me. I have been in the past and never will allow that again. My son and I deserve better.
My next door neighbor, Alexander... He's intense. Grumpy. Gorgeous. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted, the dream of what a man should be and never is. I refuse to fall for his charms. Guys like him are never who they seem.
He doesn’t make it easy. Especially when my ex shows up and tries to destroy mine and Oliver’s lives. Alexander is there for me in every sense of the word. As he chips away at the walls I’ve carefully built, I slowly start to believe I can trust again.
As long as my son is safe and happy.
My Review
Charlotte and her son, Ollie have just moved into town. The first person they meet is Alex. He does not make a great first impression. Alex definitely came off as a grump in the beginning. Yet, it turns out he is a golden retriever.
Haha. I really liked Alex's friend, Bronx. He is nice but the ribbing that he gave Alex for getting with Charlie was hilarious. He knew that he was embarrassing Alex and the more he spoke.
The way that Alex interacted with Ollie was sweet. I loved the sweet romance that bloomed between Alex and Charlie. This grump turned his frown upside down into a smile. Home for Christmas is a charming, sweet romance read.
