The Warrior Edda: Lost Heroes
Freya Einarsdodder had sailed along the Gray Coast as a hired sword for years, cutting out a living among the warring factions of the south. Fierce, strong and with a striking beauty she has always had to trust her instinct and her blade as she fought for her place in the world. When she heard rumors of a Norse captain looking to take on crew in the great city of Calderon, she was eager for the chance to sail once more with her own people. There was no way she could have known that she would end up on a longship, with a thief, a priest and the imposing Captain Wolfgeir. Now dangerous waters await them all, filled with foul creatures, vicious pirates, magic and a ruthless king who may have a score to settle with the captain and his crew. But what is more dangerous, the wary king, the monsters that surround them or the captain himself; a man driven to succeed, a man determined to pry wealth and glory from whoever or whatever gets in his way.

With compelling characters and exciting storytelling, Lost Heroes, will plunge you into a deeply magical world fraught with danger and glory.
My Review
Lost Heroes is a fun and thrilling read! Instantly, I was transported into this magical world. This book may be geared towards young adult readers but adults alike will be hooked on this book. I know I sure was. My nephews will have such an enjoyable time reading this book as I did. This includes Freya. She may be a female but she is a kick ass heroine. She earns and gets the respect of men. In fact, she is so strong that even Captain Wolfgeir had to give in and admit that she is a force to be reckoned with.
Speaking of Captain Wolfgeir. He is a reasonable person. Yet, don't underestimate him. He may not just into a battle as the first person but he commands attention when he speaks. Than there are the other characters. None of them felt like secondary or even played third string. Everyone had a voice that was distinct. There was not one character that I encountered and didn't like. The characters were not the only ones that were intriguing; there are all of the monsters that the gang encountered and battled along the way. I look forward to continuing this journey with Captain Wolfgeir, Freya, and the rest of the gang.
